Dear God, some of you posting on this forum play an ugly game, tossing explosive accusations against your political opposites on this board the way you do. After reading the OP I was inclined to edit flgator2's incendiary comment on the OP hoping to avoid further accusatory rhetoric, anticipating how this was going to go. However, River's post on the incident and response to the ugly insinuations made by OP, gave the thread tacit approval. So it remains, a rallying cry of outrage to remind us all there are dangerously deranged people who are consumed with hate and anger and ill intent.

We are all aware of that. There is / was no need to goad or make false accusatory insinuations that only escalate hostilities and ratchet up violent tensions. This is a dangerous game you play, pushing and goading each other to the very edge.

Let the authorities deal with it and find the person responsible for the despicable threats and accusations. And possible illegal substance. Let Donald, Jr have his play at victimhood, while all of you outraged MAGA types register your own outrage and level your own accusations of hate towards others posting on this forum. But if you do, don't forget those of your own political bent who vocalize their own hate forged in the malevolent words of a dangerously manipulative man who lured and instigated the insurrection intended to bring down our government.

Be aware - accusations made against others are but projections of what the one making the accusations is himself thinking or capable of doing. That's how projection works. That's a fact.

I don't know if Trump's operatives are behind this or not. But until the truth of the situation is discovered it seems better not to make parity charges of a 'false flag' scheme. There's certainly been too much of that already, with the ugly and false charges like the one about a child sex trafficking ring being run in the basement of Comet Pizza by Hillary. Lies upon lies. Comet Pizza does not even have a basement. Nonetheless, untold numbers of Trump supporters believed it as it was endlessly repeated to the point of an ignorant conspiracy believing nut bringing an AR15 rifle into the restaurant and firing it.

The false charges being leveled at our institutions and agencies like the FBI and the electoral process is shameful and dangerous. The lies are intended to create distrust and delegitimize government and spurring those who believe the lies into committing criminal actions that would topple our government, enabling them to establish the Christian Dominionist one they envision. A dangerous mix that has the all too real potential to smash our world beyond repair if the distrustful take it into their minds to "correct" the institutions and processes they distrust.

Those who goad, mock, manipulate or tell lies about the political opposition are contributing to the destructive erosion of those institutions.

We all need to examine our motives and our behaviors. Why do we post what we do on this forum? What is our intention? Do we not want to live in a nation where people are peaceful and productive? That will only be our reality when we live and deal towards others with intentions of Good Will. That has not been found in this thread.

Please Gators, be kind. One person at a time. Treat other people the way you want to be treated. Start right now working to construct the sort of world you want to leave to your children and grand children.

Can't help but say that it seems rather comical to me, that now is the time to tone it down!!! Apparently, some have overlooked the over the top, demeaning, trying to goad, condescending tone to anything non-liberal comments that have been the regular here for the past couple years. There is a very distinct reason very few from the right post here and it is the same reason only a handful of posters engage in dialogue here regularly. I know I am right of center; I know what I voice is only my opinion, not the only opinion and try to engage that way regularly to try and keep a balance here rather than the snow globe community it has turned into. Just comical, now is the time to tone it down!!!

 

No question that there's too much goading, too many blanket statements about the other side. But I don't know how you can claim it's all coming in one direction. I mean, look at the post that started the thread.

Of course it’s wrong on all sides, but Trump as much as anyone in my lifetime has purposely fostered division and incited his followers. He also has the ability more than anyone in this country to instantly turn that heat way down, but it’s not in his political interest. Hard to claim victim hood for him and his family, but he’s expert at it.
