Many of the immigrants deported were here waiting their asylum hearing. Meaning they had broken zero laws. Others had no felony criminal record. Not in Venezuela nor here in the US. Being undocumented is only a misdemeanor.
WRONG. Being awarded an asylum hearing does not automatically mean someone did not break the law by entering the country illegally; it simply means they have a right to a hearing to determine if they qualify for asylum based on a credible fear of persecution.

Entering the country undocumented, surrendering to ICE, and requesting asylum is a LEGAL way to enter the country. Someone awaiting an asylum hearing has not broken a single immigration law. If there are no other pending charges against the immigrant, then the asylum seeker has broken no laws. There were several stories like this of an asylum seekers with no criminal record from Venezuela being deported to El Salvador without due process. This is clearly unconstitutional. And all because a person from Venezuela with tattoos is now considered an enemy of the state according to the Trump admin.
