Maybe Mullen had a reason for not answering his calls/texts.

And Billy kept running him out there on pass plays where the video evidence on ETN seems to suggest a high probability of blocking like that? What am I missing here, what competent coach keeps going to that poison well?

Ones that don't want to telegraph to the defense whether they are run or pass on a given play. That's why every back has to block. This would not have been a problem if Carroll hadn't blown out his knee preseason.

Nah man, if Im a coach and I have a back that is a liability with pass protection......Im calling plays that only require 2 step drops, rolling him away from pressue where my RB is at, utilizing my back in a routes underneath.....etc. expecting ETN to pass protect based on that video defies logic!

Knox would not have let him play nor would any NFL team on passing downs

Wish him good mental and physical health, and poor stats. The betrayal by him, his parents, family and agent are complete...no patience.

Also I wonder how Bowens feels? Didn't Kirby sign 3 RBs this class? No way they keep all those kids happy.

Great runner. Pointing out his blocking deficiencies might be a way to soften the blow for fans but in hindsight i can see why maybe his carries dwindled in some games. I mean you have a struggling offensive line and defenses often tighten up in the 2nd half ( not ours...) so what do you do? Put in a well known pass blocking liability with a line that struggles already or run him over and over where the defense just Ts off on the run game?

There is a lot of kids that will wait 3 to 4 years to get their 10 carries a game just to be on the winning team and pick up that ring. Then there’s guys like Kobe that like their rings the hard way.

Mertz was hurt to in the season and I’m surprised he was not hurt earlier. Protecting your quarterback is not optional.

I’ll go a step further and say I hope our defenders are pissed off and bust his ass. Every chance they get.

more and more likely the gator defenders will play hard and after the game, hug ETN and wish him well. That is what most all sports has become.
