This is an interview with the Jesuitical podcast about the new movie he made with his daughter Maya, Wildcat, about Catholic writer Flannery O'Connor. I knew from prior interviews that Ethan was deeply spiritual, which is an insufficient word and also why he chose to do First Reformed and The Good Lord Bird, both brilliant pieces of art. He views Wildcat as a third part of that trilogy. But however much I thought he had contemplated deeply about such issues and felt them, I was underestimating by a power of about 20.
