By next season, you mean 2025? At this point, Harris is the only one that should maybe start in 2024. We'll check back after spring. If Barber & Slaugter are still healthy and here in 2025, they will start at OT1/OT2 and center, respectuvely. Like the sentiment about CBN's nine (9) OL recruits. They look real good to me. Looking forward to how they play this spring.
I haven't seen anything about his size increase. I hope he does surprise. He looked like he could play on either side of the ball in high school.
We basically need some players to make massive sophomore jumps and be in line to be bonafide all SEC the following year.
If Mullen was still here, he might have eeked out a win or two, but we would still have a mediocre record with far less talented recruits. Mullen had lost his passion for coaching at the college level. I think many fans want to blame BN for the Mullen debacle. Just saying! BN is not a horrible playcaller. The problem both years has been execution, on offense and defense! The problem with the Gators, since Meyer, has (outside of Trask) been no quarterback; and now that we have one of the best it still isn't good enough. My guess is you are not a Gator fan or a fair-weather Gator fan--which still means you are not a true Gator fan!!! And if you truly are a Gator fan, then you need to sound like one!
You need good play calling to win close games. That's going to be the determining factor along with development of OL/DL
I'm not a BN fan but we did have a lot of almost games that if won would have completely changed the offseason feel. Most importantly, you have a losing season, no bowl game, thus coaches are on their way out prior to bowl game and ESD. Recruits are looking at coaching stability and losing their main recruiter, what other top recruiting school had a losing season? Anyway, I think we would have been better off just having will muschamp the whole time but I'm also crazy and like to piss people off with that comment.
Horrible playcallers usually don't have more yards per game than Bama and average 29 points per gamewith their starter AR QB, which by the way was Mullen's average over his years in the SEC. His best years non-Tebow were after 10 years playcalling in the SEC.
All you guys said the same wonderful things about Mullen. And then he was fired. I cant live in your fantasy land. And besides, ET said these posts are improving the site traffic, which means more ad money for this site.
