Malik sort of slips under the radar, but between getting discovered and injured in his freshman year, he averaged 99.6 yds per game and 6.7 per carry. He was extremely fast and was deceptively powerful for a little back. Dude would have easily eclipsed 1,000 if not for the injury.
Baugh almost always goes forward, but, there is usually a rocket-assisted 3-yard slide sideways in the process.
Man, Emmitt at 3900+ in 3 years is @$#& crazy, esp @ yards @ 5.6 per clip. Dude was special. ....imagine a 4th....
Great list. I'd add Earnest Graham in there--prolly my #3. Loved that guy. Just a quiet workman--not flashy, but incredibly effective. His often overlooked value was most pronounced in his absence--missing the rescheduled Tenn game, due to dickless douchebag Darnell Dockett committing felony battery on him at bottom of pile, after play (surely patted on head by world class POS Mickey Andrews...).
Rhett had a true champion's heart. Remember the rain and mud game against UGA where he was practically the whole offense? Everyone in the stadium knew what was coming and the Oline and Erict kept blasting those pugs play by play into submission. It was the picture of imposing your will on your opponent until we broke them. He was not the most gifted, fastest, or best anything back we ever had. But if there was a fourth and goal to win the game I know I would pick him over any other back we've had to get the job done. He would find a way. One of my all time faves.
