    Oh, that's true, too, and I'm not arguing that he wasn't qualified to be president. But an argument was made in this thread that executive experience doesn't count if it was obtained in the public sector. If that's the test, being a governor is not distinguishable in that respect from being a state AG, a U.S. Senator, or Vice President.

    I wasn’t arguing, I was just responding to your post. For me personally, I think Governors make the best candidates for president because they’ve actually run an administration. That’s why I voted for Carter, Clinton, Bush II, and Romney. I’ve never cared much for senators running for president, regardless of party, although sometimes I had to vote for them.

    Lots of the highest rated presidents had no executive experience, didn’t run a business.
