Where is your revenue growth? You’d already have the entire market, I can’t think of any add on revenue that wouldn’t compromise the independence of your refs … it’s just not a real business. It’s more like a not-for-profit. Not seeing it.

Then the conferences would just hire HS refs.

Weird my first instinct was 501c3 as well. Maybe that is way to go. It needs to be fixed. I was hoping ncaa would fix it but they don’t control college football. We need a college football commissioner. They would then fix it I think. Trust me I hate the business too. Just want it fixed

Try apathy towards college football overall. I'm finding it to be an effective and inexpensive remedy to all that NCAA football has become.

Interesting you say that as with this issue and how crappy our Ad’s hire head coaches I am very close to apathetic.

Maybe just stop being a whiner? Rarely does officiating decide games, and if you're complaining about officiating when you're down 14 to Vanderbilt, Kentucky or some other bottom dweller maybe look at why you're even in the position you are.

Officiating is never perfectly fair. Like weather. Or injuries. That's life. OP needs to head back to GHFC and complain about imaginary charging fouls with the other 45+ "basketball players" reliving their non existent glory days.

Yeah, that's fair. I seem to teeter between apathy and despair
That's a fair criticism. I find it intellectually amusing how I've come to teetering between apathy and outrage.

Not whining. If you cannot see the issue with refs being paid by conferences and reporting to conferences and 4 major conferences have 11 spots to fight over then I can’t help you see the problem. I am not specifically complaining about Gators or whining about it. This will come up as an issue I assure you. We will see other games like Va tech vs Miami where it is clear that refs will protect their playoff spot for their employer.

LOL. ACC officials “protecting” Miami by allowing this Va Tech field goal when a penalty should have been called. Two players wearing #17.

They already got pinched for it in their game against Vanderbilt leading to a Vandy FG.

What if the conferences pay the refs like now but they don't do that conference's games. Like the SEC pays for refs but they do only Big 12 games. The ACC pays for refs and they do Big 10 games and so on.

Was it the ref or the ACC HQ that actually made the decision on the last play? If it was the ref why did HQ get involved at all? Certainly HQ has better available technology than a monitor under a hood, but if anyone had a conflict of interest it was ACC brass much more than the ref.

Reviewed plays are a collaborative effort between the replay official at the game and the conference's gameday operations center.

Only a matter of time until we no longer have conf. affiliated refs. Rick Neuheisel two days in a row on his Sirius xm show has said same thing I have been saying. I tried to upload the audio but cannot do it. He suggests the CFP take over all refs. Sounds great I don't want to do it myself but it needs to be done.
