A 12 and 17 year old have been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of Layla Silvernail and two others. A third juvenile suspect is being sought by police.
The victims and suspects were all believed to have been committing robberies and burglaries together and all had gang affiliations.

Marion County Sheriff Woods said: “Basically, in simple terms there is no honor among thieves,” Woods said at a press conference. “And at some point, these three individuals turned on our three victims and murdered them.”

2 arrested in murders of 3 Florida teens, 3rd suspect at large

A horribly tragic outcome to some very poor decision making. May she rest in peace.

Last night was the end of season ceremonies for Forest Softball. Reagan played JV most of the year to get her pitching reps. Her bat was varsity ready but the reps in the circle were likely well worth it. And she is above her years for the situation. While she could have helped varsity at the plate. She told me…my time will come. Proud papa hearing that come from her. She did get moved up to varsity to end the season and to play at districts. Got in a couple games pinch running.

For JV…honestly the competition was subpar for our area. But we played some legit teams traveling to Orlando and Clermont. Reagan ended with a 1.0 ERA plus or minus a tenth or so. I missed a couple games and had to go off the books and what others said to make a fair determination on that. They said she batted .600 but I will say that is flat high. They did not take errors into account. That said. She would have been better playing higher level pitching. JV pitching outside the Orlando/Clermont teams (they had varsity level pitching like we did) is just not good. LeCanto had a pitcher who was okay. And the problem is it teaches bad habits. But she did what she needed to do at the end against slow pray it is a strike pitching where the coaches want them to hit.

She had no losses on the season. In the 4 games we lost (all legit teams). She started two and relieved in two. We had another freshman pitcher who is a slightly better pitcher but not the hitter Reagan is. Unfortunately we had some weak spots in the field that led to all 4 losses that really should not be put on our other pitcher. Not often you end up with two freshmen that really could have been the ace at multiple schools in our area as a freshman.

For the season the Coaches gave her the MVP…
