Seems like this is what a weaponized government looks like. Maybe utilize a consumer advocacy group vs the government.

This is clearly part of Desantis effort to try to appeal to antivaxxers with his anti pharma message. Weaponizing a tax payer funded public agency against another public agency for political gain is absolutely disgraceful, especially given the public agency is responsible for public safety. In my mind this is completely disqualifying as to Desantis’s credibility as a public servant.

Reading through it basically calls for even longer and more extensive drug trials and heavier regulation on pharma.

Here is your so called conservative anti regulation governor.

Desantis and Lapado have publicly said they want to go after big pharma due to the vaccines. This is part of that.

Does this mean that Republicans now oppose Operation Warp Speed after taking credit for it for the past 3.5 years?

Drug companies advertising is weird to me. All of a sudden, you are supposed to be the expert (from a commercial) to tell your doctor what you need. Shouldn't you just be able to tell your doctor what's wrong and have them review what your options are and what the pros and cons of each might be? Why does any pharmaceutical company need to sell YOU on their product?

Doctors have to be marketed on these drugs too (because they are basically the middle man), its about creating demand (you get the commercials, the doctor gets a 20 something hottie coming in monthly and inviting him to trade shows where they "take care of you" and all they have to do is prescribe a drug). What do you expect with market-based health care system?

I agree but I also enjoy the game my 4 year old has made out of pronouncing the names after the commercials.

I tend to agree with this. I think there should be some sort of regulation or something on it, or perhaps offset R&D tax credits that they get with advertising that they do. Or perhaps advertising costs have to be charged separately and paid out of pocket by consumers.

They do it because it creates consumer demand and pressure on the doctor to prescribe it.

Ours is to listen and read the side effects which is humanly impossible. Lol

“Stop taking prezamanic if you have a massive heart attack, stroke, uncontrolled rage, lose feeling in you entire body, or glow in the dark. Talk with your doctor today and join thousands of satisfied prezamanic patients.”

Today, that's not allowed. Nearly any inducement is prohibited. Now companies can enlist key opinion leaders to speak at conferences about a product and get some compensation, but mostly it caters to ego.

There are so many ways for consumers to get very detailed information about a product and to read the FDA review documents to understand the benefit and risk analysis that goes into an approval.

The FDA is in place to protect people from unsubstantiated products. My guess is Dessntis, like Trump want to undermine public confidence in the FDA, and CDC, to install a pseudo- govt board of cronies that will get massive Florida taxpayer dollars and bribes to allow drug product marketing, at the expense of people's health.

Ask your doctor if _______ is right for you. May cause rash, bleeding, angry outbursts, and apocalyptic flatulence.
