So ... about that supposed stalker. Musk claimed a man was stalking him using info from the ElonsJet account, then claimed the man confronted one of his cars that had his kid in it and jumped on the hood. The police report seems very different. It sounds like Elon's security team pulled over and blocked this other guy's car in, accused him of following them, then struck the man with their car, before leaving. According to police, Elon's security guard is actually a "suspect" in the case. “At no time during the incident did the victim identify the suspect or indicate the altercation was anything more than coincidental,” police said. .... In their statement, police said a 29-year-old man from Connecticut had pulled off a highway shortly before 10 p.m. to use his phone in a parking lot. While parked, the man said another vehicle pulled directly in front of him, blocking his path, according to police. The driver of the second vehicle then accused the Connecticut man of following him, police said. Each party captured video during the dispute, they said. Police said that as Musk’s security team member was leaving the parking lot in the second vehicle, he struck the Connecticut man with his vehicle. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/20/cal...eam-is-a-suspect-following-stalker-claim.html
Looks like the stalker was a upset he was being harassed by Elon with secret coded messages and his mind control. Also looks like Elon pulled a McElwain and exaggerated the actual risk. No police report and no connection to plane tracking. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/12/18/details-of-musk-stalking-incident/ LOS ANGELES — A confrontation between a member of Elon Musk’s security team and an alleged stalker that Musk blamed on a Twitter account that tracked his jet took place at a gas station 26 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and 23 hours after the @ElonJet account had last located the jet’s whereabouts. The timing and location of the confrontation cast doubt on Musk’s assertion that the account had posted real-time “assassination coordinates” that threatened his family and led to the confrontation. Police have said little about the incident but say they’ve yet to find a link between the confrontation and the jet-tracking account. Using a video of the incident that Musk posted to Twitter, The Washington Post identified the owner of the car involved and then the driver shown in the video who had rented it through the car-sharing service Turo. The car’s renter, Brandon Collado, confirmed in interviews with The Post that he was the person shown in the video. In his communications with The Post, Collado, who said he was a driver for Uber Eats, also made several bizarre and unsupported claims, including that he believed Boucher was sending him coded messages through her Instagram posts; that Musk was monitoring his real-time location; and that Musk could control Uber Eats to block him from receiving delivery orders. He said he was in Boucher’s neighborhood to work for Uber Eats.
It's a new in joke with my daughter. When she asked for our flight information to pick us up, I told her I didn't want to text my "assassination coordinates". We are now overdoing it, typically
Elon announces another round of layoffs….. At Tesla (headed to $100/share)? Another Elon Musk company plans layoffs amid Twitter brouhaha
Tesla now offering $7500 discounts to try and get people to take deliveries. Ouch. Musk has become so toxic he is going to kill Tesla. I wonder if private vulture funds are being established to buy up the assets Tesla Offers $7,500 Discount in Rare Move to Lift Deliveries (msn.com) (Bloomberg) -- Tesla Inc. is offering US consumers $7,500 to take delivery of its two highest-volume models before year-end, adding to indications the carmaker is struggling with demand. The discount on new Model 3 sedans and Model Y sport utility vehicles is double what the company was offering earlier this month. It mirrors an anticipated change in how much of a tax credit certain consumers will be eligible for early next year. It’s highly unusual for Tesla to offer such perks, as Elon Musk has for years enforced a no-discounts policy. The company also departed from its chief executive officer’s insistence against spending on traditional advertising last month by promoting its wares on a local television shopping channel in China. Tesla also has cut prices and production in that market this quarter. Tesla shares fell as much as 3.8% after the open of regular trading Thursday. The stock has plunged 39% since Musk closed his deal for Twitter Inc. in late October and 61% for the year. Ten analysts have cut their price targets since last week, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
Tesla now has many competitors and while preferences are personal. I’d say the offerings from BMW Merc and Audi are all superior. Couple that with a toxic man child who’s largely absent from his duties and this is what you get it is amusing to see it plummet but I wish I had some put options on it. I just never believed in th company (due to its P/E) so I stayed away
I believe the voting structure is such that he cannot be removed by the board and even if he steps aside, his name is so tied into Tesla that I doubt people will return to the fandom purchases that he once experienced as other EV options become available. edit...I could be very wrong about this though so hopefully someone more informed than I can clarify
