Same, I only got twitter for football and pro wrestling. Any other stuff like politics I purge off my timeline. Don’t need it clogging up real estate. Seems like I have to purge every couple of days due to twitter thinking I want political opinions on my timeline. I’m equal opportunity blocker don’t want Trump on my timeline or Biden either. Just go away and let me enjoy football and wrestling.
Then what exactly are you inferring when you talk about a spike in racist tweets since Musk took over?
There is a difference between encouraging racism and tolerating racism.... Does free speech absolutism mean tolerating racism? I'd think it does...
We probably would blame the store owner if he removed the locks and took down any cameras and talked a ton about how stores should have less locks and cameras.
Honestly, the only way Twitter wins if is they get much leaner and more production out of remaining staff. So I am not sure why so many are killing Musk for making Twitter much leaner and trying to squeeze more production out of remaining staff. Oh wait, I know why. There’s never a pretty way to get rid of 75% of your staff all at once. Musk signaled months ago this was coming. People acting like Musk is being caught with his pants down and Twitter is going to crash need to understand there was no other way for Twitter to get back into the black and (as you point out) Twitter functioned just fine in years past when the staff was much lighter. And lost advertisers have a way of being replaced.
Part of the problem in this post is it assumes a strategic downsizing which did not occur. I doubt he had any idea who was necessary and who was not when he showed up (which is why he has had to beg people to come back after firing them from initiatives that he was trying). That is generally why you institute a system by which to find redundancies and who isn't necessary utilizing consultants, managers of the company, etc. when you take over a company, rather than just firing everybody. And let me know when he finds the advertisers that want to step into this mess for what was already not a particularly effective form of social media advertising.
mahbe, maybe not. Black World Cup Stars Are Getting a Barrage of Racist Attacks and Twitter Is Doing Nothing
You are going way out of your way to censor someone who doesn’t even want to go back to Twitter. My point is there are people who have done way worse who post on Twitter routinely. If an ex-con who killed someone is allowed to post on Twitter, I think we can allow the former President to post on Twitter.
yes that is what I inferred since musk took over. But I pulled it from various articles and even posted one. Which I notice you rarely do. I think I know why. You once again changed your position. Above is accurate. However this is now different than your previous post. “To intimate Musk encourages racism”. that I never said. You made it up to put it mildly.
“According to two people familiar with the moves”. In other words, Bloomberg reporting complete hearsay. That’s what I figured you’d come back with. I know Musk spoofed the story on Twitter, welcoming back a couple of employees. But it was a joke, as the two employees were never let go.
Okay, so now Bloomberg isn't a credible source, apparently. How do you think they should report such a thing? There is no public database of Twitter employees. Sources are a pretty consistent reporting technique. You think Musk is going to go on Twitter and admit that he is a complete idiot that fired people he needed?
First, if you had any common sense at all, you’d know it likely wasn’t Musk himself who made the employee lay off list. He likely delegated that task to someone under him who was familiar with the company structure. So, first red flag. Musk likely just said “we need to cut x amount of employees….make it happen.” CEO’s are rarely the ones who determine the specific employees being cut. So that’s the first glaring issue with your narrative. The second being the story is based on complete hearsay.
They already cut loose the people who would do such a thing (on the first day). The people just under him have no background in Twitter or social media in general either. And there is absolutely no evidence that they asked the middle managers to handle this. You are assuming strategy where no such evidence exists. You are criticizing a fairly standard reporting technique (the use of sources within organizations to report on the goings-on within an organization) while just assuming that you are correct without any form of evidence.
How do you know they cut loose ALL middle management who would make these personnel decisions? Again, what verifiable source do you have for such information? And no, we’re not going to use anonymous hearsay as the standard for accurate reporting. Anonymous hearsay would get you laughed out of a courtroom every time. It looks like all you have is anonymous conjecture and hearsay to buttress your remarks. Did you ever wonder why none of this makes any sense? It’s because you’re being taken for a ride by the media.
