nice compilation of highlights but you could put together a more impressive montage of Tyree footage.

Glover did it every single game, and, no, you couldn’t put together a montage like that for Tyree, unless it is going to be a minute long. Do you really think that Tyree was a good point guard for the Gators? If so, can I assume that you regret White’s departure?

I can’t see us going after him. We could use a pure point guard.

Did you watch all of Glover's games? I'm guessing you did.

No, I do not think Tyree was a good PG as he had way too many "WTF" moments. A lot of those came when he was trying to carry the team too hard and in those moments, he did have some fantastic plays.

Glover took 400 shots this year as a PG. Appleby if he took 400 would have scored more judging by % from 3 and FT.
Unless your Curry don't want my PG taking most shots by far on team.
Love asst and steals and an 85% or better FT shooter as my PG. Throw in 10 pts a game.

I never did. I roll with the coach we have, and the players we have. I don't like complaining nonstop, especially about something I can't control. I find it irritating and so do most people.

Definitely Chandler Parsons, he had buzzer beaters, putback dunks, alley-oops, poster dunks.

Ohh yup, good answer, good answer.

2 buzzer beaters for the win that season, NC State and South Carolina.

Each to his own, but complaining about a coach is one small step in getting rid of a coach. If no one complains about a coach, you get stuck with him forever. My pet peeve, and everyone on here pretty much knows it, is the putting down of what I believe are good players who should have succeeded at UF but didn’t because of the coach. There are way too many posters on here who have taken the position that if you weren’t good here, then you’re not good. So, when a Gorjok Gak leaves and becomes a star at a mid-major, it’s because he’s at a mid-major even though he went toe to toe with Evan Mobley and held his own. Or, when an Andrew Nembhard goes to Gonzaga and is great, it’s said that he has the same stats that he had at Florida. Or a Scottie Lewis wasn’t a good teammate, etc. I can’t stand that stuff, and I am going to be outspoken about it. No one has to read my posts, and I will not be offended by being blocked. With all of that being said, these kinds of arguments should fade away now that Todd Golden is our coach. I am very excited about him, and he reminds me of a young Brad Stevens.

But what if Scottie Lewis wasn't the best teammate and mods from sites that cover UF have said as much? You may not like it, but there may be some truth to it.

I have no reason to believe it. It’s actually amazing to me what he had to put up with for 2 years at UF before bailing out.

But why would someone who covers the team lie about him?

I would have to see what they said. Lewis, Glover, Ruzhnetsev, Lane and others had plenty to complain about. I never heard a peep from any of them. I saw people post things like Lewis not high-fiving everyone when he was taken out of a game and went back to the bench. That didn’t make him a bad teammate.

It was during a game thread this year on TOS. Not sure it can be linked. All criticism of a kid isn't legit and some should be met with some skepticism.

And there's a difference between having issues with playing time and usage and showing up late to team events. I don't think the two should be equated or one shouldn't be viewed as acceptable due to the other.

Think Lewis was a great teammate from all accounts. He really started to come on and then Covid hit his Freshman year. Then I think between getting covid and social unrest, he never really got in a groove the following year.

For one thing, I think the offense his Freshman year with Nembhard and Blackshear was much better for his game and then the following year the offense was give the ball to Mann and everyone get out of the way. It seemed to take him out of his game and he just never seemed that focused. I'm not trying to blame the coach for Lewis's sophomore year as some of the issues was on him, but for various reasons he just didn't have that great of a year, clearly shown by going from potential lottery pick to 2nd round.

I would add that it was Mann and Appleby and get out of the way. That was even worse. In an interview after an NBA workout, Lewis diplomatically said that his second season at UF didn’t work out because of his situation of playing with some ball dominant players. He didn’t say ball hogs and he didn’t name names. Unfortunately for him, on top of Appleby and Mann, when the ball went into CC, it didn’t come back out to spot-up shooters.

His 2nd year that whole team never seemed to regain any footing once KJ went down. Think he was the glue to that team. Then throw in the COVID stoppages and the team seemed uneven all year.
