Dude, the guy is advocating for work houses. You know, like from Oliver Twist. THIS is who you are talking to. Give that some thought and ask yourself, "Is it worth it to engage with complete and total retards?"

It's more retarded than that. He's advocating for some kind of 18th-19th-Century work house program like they had in England. You know, the stuff Dickens wrote about. How can anyone take this guy seriously?

this is just a start but for this to have long range success he will have to build and monitor the wall and stop all illegal traffic from entering - otherwise the libs will just continue to push it as a failure

In Cali, they are doing more than just picking crops and building things. Also a large number working in senior care facilities and turning down beds in hotels/motels. Jobs that generally don't pay well, are difficult, and often dirty. But someone needs to do them.

And why give them a path to citizenship? Because this country was founded on the principle of representation with taxation. The immigrants can choose to return home if they wish. But if they stay, they deserve to have a say in local and national government so they have a voice in politics. Otherwise, we're creating a more permanent underclass that pays taxes but never gets a voice on how much they should be taxes, or how said taxes should be spent.

I don't have a problem with someone who legally enters the country having a pathway to citizenship, I encourage it. I would like to see a program where so many years of military service, let's say 3, qualify you for citizenship.

This from the guy who said: "If we stop testing we wont have any cases". Seems like a similar solution.

Well known to the old timers here. Haven’t posted in a while… certainly happy to see bill posting here again. And live seeing @92gator on the liberal side of this. It’s been more than a year since I posted regularly here and I likely won’t do it for long. I like the insider boards.

The country is better off— if you like vegetables. If you have a better policy for agriculture, hospitality and construction, let’s hear it.

How many businesses will fail because of this policy? What effect will of have on the economy, not just for those businesses but also the ripple effect in terms of inflation and unemployment? I suppose the unemployed people created by this policy can then downgrade their lives by working the fields and construction or cleaning tables or kitchens for those businesses that survive. That way we will still have the booming economy that Biden left Trump— low unemployment and strong growth. The economic retraction would have an effect on inflation except to t he extent we have to substitute imports food and supplies subject to the tariffs. The labor force isn’t there to lose these workers. It is why we had a labor shortage in the early days post-pandemic. All because people hate immigrants fleeting places like Haiti, Venezuela and Cuba. Btw: looks like TPS is being eliminated in Haiti and Venezuela. Two places where anyone would have a well founded fear of persecution

End chicken bleaching (banned in Europe) to start. I found out about that a couple weeks ago and now I can't stop thinking about it. . . . and how much better non-bleached, properly and sanitarily processed their chicken is. I've always wondered why they look different in cooking videos and now (unfortunately) I know why.
And if we are doing that, God only know what other crap they're doing so they can stick another nickle in their pockets.

I’ve been only buying air-chilled chicken for years. Apparantly it’s not “bleached”, although I didn’t start buying it specifically because of that. It just had noticably better quality. The brand is called Bell and Evan’s. The difference is night and day vs the regular Publix chicken (nasty by comparison) or even their Greenwise brand.

Their chicken breasts aren’t bad at $6.99/lb The bone-in thighs are high since they also are $6.99/lb but they are just so much better I don’t care.

How about jobs and higher wages for the traditional Americans like we had before the 1965 Immigration Act started to kick in and we were flooded with illegals and chain migration?

Liberals are not really interested in a fair wage for all. Instead, they like the scenario where the retail price of many commodities and services they consume are effectively reduced by use of a class of quasi indentured servants in the delivery of those commodities and services.

Weird, why do you say that?

Because Donald Trump proposed an impressive immigration plan that would have raised the wages of those currently laboring and in the country without documentation?

Wait - Donald Trump did nothing of the sort. You're just making up and saying nonsense.

We have less than 7 million on unemployment today. And an estimated 8.3 million undocumented in our work force. And the average time a person is unemployed is about 3 months. So between now and April, about 3.5 million currently unemployed will have found new jobs. And overwhelmingly the majority of those new jobs will be better than your average, undocumented worker jobs.

Please explain why immigrants are keeping wages down when they are doing jobs that would otherwise go unfilled? And aren't the immigrants helping keep prices lower by doing these jobs for lower wages?

That's not too say we're good to keep these immigrants as slaves or subject them to foul labor practices. It's why we should make them legal through a guest worker program so they won't be exploited.

You would hold this expectation for migrants, but not those born in the U.S.? How about the Ph.D. from Taiwan who marries and is eligible for citizenship? Send her to the military for 3 yrs?

No need for her to go to the military if she is eligible for citizenship.
