I quit playing 18 years ago at age 50, but I think that I might school DeSantis on the court now. He doesn't strike me as a guy that has any game.

In 2 years it will be called the "Freshman Transfer Portal" -as everybody else will have already transferred once except kids who have just played one year of ball. Or rather watched one year of College Ball. All the P5 signee freshman classes will be eviscerated as they look to go get playing time. You will still have the occasional kid like Will Richard, who was outstanding as a Freshman at a Top 100 Program, wanting to trade up to the P5.

Will had 23 points and 9 rebounds against Samford this past season. Ques Glover had 22 points and 6 assists for Samford. I would have loved to have both of them on this team.

I don't get your post. No one said anything bad about Will Richard.

In fact i said he was outstanding, and good enough to play P5.

Who said anything bad about Richard? I pointed out that he and Glover both played great when they played each other and that I would have loved to have had them playing together at UF.

Glover may need to file a restraining order against TJ at this point.

I gave up pickup basketball in my early-50s. With the aching knees, plantar fascitis, bum ankles, and minor tweaks that became more and more frequent, and took longer and longer to recover from, the game just reached a point of diminishing returns for me. But I sure do miss it. I'll go down to a court now and again and just do a shoot-around. It keeps me loose and limber, at least.

Cycling and walking (and lots of yard work) are my primary forms of exercise these days.

I have hardly been posting about Glover or White lately. However, every time I think about what went down, I get enormously irritated. I am very happy that we are bringing in Lofton and Bonham, but don’t ignore the fact that Glover had a better year than both of them last season, and he rotted away on the bench for the Gators.

That dang recovery time after playing did me in. A couple of pick-up games started to take a week to get over. Still miss playing though. I don’t miss the recovery OR physical therapy.

    All of this familiar.

I cycled all of my life and at age 50 I started training for bike racing and got pretty good.

Not going to go there online.

I used to run for exercise but gave that up a long time ago. Distance runs were harder on the knees than basketball ever was. For me, anyway. And I never liked running. I switched to walking, and to riding my bike to and from work and did that for a seven or eight years until I retired last month. I've got to get back to riding regularly but it's so hot in the summer it's not much fun.

I have loose ligaments everywhere. All my fingers are "double jointed". That helped some in playing some guitar chords, like an A major chord with just one finger. I showed that to a friend of mine that is an excellent player and he was like "NO WAY!".

But it was hell on my knees playing on very hard courts like concrete or asphalt outdoors. I was OK with wood courts because they had some give. Running was out of the question. Cycling and swimming were fine.

But when I was 50 my knees hurt every morning until I got them loosened up.

It was time to give up the "A" game at Florida Gym.

Sorry to break up the old man talk but the latest news about the player this thread is about is that he has officially withdrawn from the NBA Draft.
