Okay, but that still suggests that your religious faith has an element of conveniently selecting what you want to believe. There was not a shortage of shellfish or pigs. The issue with those was that they were likely to make you sick without proper preparation. But just the notion of "what you want to believe" suggests that the food stuff was less convenient than taking on transgendered or gay people for you (you wanted to eat those things and didn't want to be trans or gay), so you chose to believe that we should take that stuff at face value and essentially ignore the food or clothing or other less convenient (and culturally less convenient) parts of the same passages.

I guess it’s more of the generalization than anything else. The post I referred to was that.

Hey,,, if it makes people feel better about themselves then have at it.

The date was originally based on the lunar Hebrew calendar as the gospel account of the dating of the Passover, and the Last Supper was thought to be that year's Passover Meal. This traditional day of Friday as the day of crucifixion is controversial and debated among Bible scholars. Mark 15:42 states Jesus was crucified on the Day of Preparation, the day before the Sabbath. The church has assumed that to be Friday afternoon, which would have proceeded the weekly Saturday Sabbath. But it was the week of the Passover and that holiday requires a special sabbath day of preparation as did the original Passover.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread, also known as the Feast of the Passover is yearly celebrated on the Hebrew lunar date Nisan 15 and could fall on any day of the week. This feast day, preceded by a day of preparation, is a High Sabbath (a day of rest). It’s also called a High Day.

As John 19:31 says that Jesus was crucified on the Preparation Day before the High Day Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This places the date of Jesus’ crucifixion on Nisan 14. Since the Passover feast is set according to a specific date on the Hewbrew calendar, the question becomes, on what day of the week was the feast day that year?

A Thursday crucifixion is thought to be more accurate based on what Jesus is quoted as saying in Matthew 12:40 - For as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the whales belly, so shall the son of man be in the earth 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.

Passover is dated to the first full moon after the Spring equinox based on the lunar calendar. Pope Gregory XIII, who invented the Gregorian calendar, switched the date to be the first Sunday after the first full moon after the equinox.

The hypocrisy of many in that group you mention cries out for comment, which they, naturally, find offensive. Devout, sincere and humble adherents of any religion are to be respected, but not hypocritical CINO's. (I don't mean you.)

The book of Acts says the apostles spread the gospel among Jews and then Gentiles in the years after the crucifixion. Some of the apostles objected to Gentiles converting from pagan beliefs to the Christian Faith and insisted they first convert to Judaism. A council of elders of the early church was held in Jerusalem to decide what should be required.

Circumcision establishes the covenant the Israelites established with God and is required of male converts to Judaism. Jewish males are obligated to follow all the laws applicable to them. There were objections and it was agreed gentile converts would not be required to first convert to Judaism or be circumscized. The uncircumsized are not subject to the Jewish covenants or obligated to obey the dietary laws or laws pertaining to clothing or yoking different sorts of animals together to tread grain.

Some of the dietary laws were established for health reasons as posted elsewhere in this thread. Unequally yoked was a caution, in addition to being practical husbandry advice was a warning to avoid associations or marriage with people who have different values or beliefs. The ancient Jewish laws people cite as unreasonable or unchristian are therefore not applicable to Christians.

In Matthew 5:17 Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” And don't forget his reply when asked "what is the greatest law?" To love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and others as yourself. Those following that teaching will perhaps also see the connection to his advice to treat others as they wish others to treat them.

Enjoy your well cooked crisp bacon and beef stroganoff and wearing mixed fiber clothing.

That version is likely as close to the real Jesus as is the one that posits that he came to teach hate and wants hatred in His name

Though orthodox Christian doctrines teach the resurrection was a real flesh and blood, death and life again event, there are followers of the Christ and what he taught, who believe the accounting of the event was metaphorical; to underscore the validity of what Jesus taught during his ministry.

A Christian is one who believes in and follows the teachings of Jesus, not one who merely professes belief in what is taught about Jesus. True faith is revealed in how one lives one's life. No dogmatic requirements to believe tenets of dogma set by gatekeepers can or will establish who is a Christian.

Not sure why people are getting so deep when Biden is simply pandering to the latest demographic with this, like he always has before. I think you're all taking something that is simply Biden being Biden and blowing it way out of proportion.

    L-O-L. You're an unserious person.
Ah yes, the lady who chose to work for rabidly anti-gay organizations (Family Research Council and ADF) isn't a fan of SPLC. Shocker. Next, you can post an editorial from The Daily Stormer telling us all what a scam the SPLC is.
