A total of 38 injured, including five firefighters. Apparently the battery just exploded next to an entry door of an apartment on the 20th floor. Yeah… this is not from this incident, but a crazy video of an escooter catching on fire while charging…. Ruined this guys Christmas..
I unplug all charging batteries once charged for any equipment including lawn equipment or even my phone. I'm not against electric vehicles but they charging them in the house seems like a bad idea at the moment. Some will use any instances of electric fires to support their agenda but it is a concern. It's not like ICE vehicles don't burn up as well.
I’m not concerned about cars but these bikes have a bunch of knock off or ultra cheap lithium batteries with poor circuitry and relatively frequently catch fire. I’d charge them outside which is obviously a problem for condo/high rise dwellers.
