Another individual who will never recover a reputation built over a long career due to the Trump taint. DT is the ultimate corrupter; he brings darkness to everything he touches, including this country

But I was just told today that there's evidence of a conspiracy to take trump's presidency that included the Senate, FBI and the intelligence apparatus. I'm so confused now.

He has me blocked, but I'm sure our short bus poster from Tally will be along any minute to make his excuses for Durham.

So now we are down to whether or not Danchenko lied about Trump being peed on. What an investigation.

I can’t figure out why Durham took that gig outside maybe some overwhelming sense of duty to the President. By most accounts he’s a very good prosecutor but this whole fiasco isn’t going to help him and it seems like it was always fairly likely to end up like this, with basically nothing to show for it

Absolutely. Everyone respected Durham. But not just the fact that he didn't come up with anything but that Barr convince him to run down while conspiracy theories like Italian satellites, and to obsess on the Hillary Clinton connection. The facts were always obvious. If he wanted to make some hay with FISA abuses that happen all the time but that they could have overplayed here and acted like it was something nefarious, he might've been able to play into some political messaging. But again, Trump set the agenda for the investigation - he had to be made a victim of the Deep State and Hillary.

They did find a lie in the FISA warrant. But that is it. Berman’s book has really slammed Barr. But we knew this when he lied about the conclusions by Mueller as to three of the obstruction accusations. And, now he has exposed the pressure to drop cases against Trump allies and to make cases against enemies. So, not he is either a RINO or liar, like Everyone else who says the same thing about the Trump Administration. The Sussman case turned out to be very questionable, to say the least, when the evidence was presented. A good lesson in all of these matters.

It is also important to note, that just because someone was a good prosecutor or investigator, it doesn’t mean they are a decade later. Life, unfortunately happens to folks. Ymmv as to whether this applies here.

I’m not sure we should rush to ‘waste of time’. Many Trump supporters thought the Mueller investigation was a waste of time.

I think it’s not a bad idea to show that the government is willing to evaluate itself. At the very least, perhaps a few people will feel better having Durham take this look. Though it’s hard to imagine.

Danachenko’s alleged source, Millan, is refusing to come to the country to testify. Millan denies being the source. After the Sussman trial fiasco, it will be interesting to see what evidence the government has to support that Danecheno made up any allegations and/or did not speak to Millan.

From an analysis in this morning's Washington Post:

"Barr seems to have legitimately thought that Trump was unfairly targeted in 2016. He probably still does. He put Durham in place to prove the case. Durham didn’t. But Durham did accomplish one thing that is very important to Trump: He generated a lot of things that could become Fox News headlines in which anecdotes became indictments of the system.
In that sense, Durham was very successful indeed."

Nearing an end, and looking like the investigation will quietly fade away as I am sure Fox and other right-wing media will make little mention of it from here on out.

He called his first witness today in the last case, and it apparently didn’t go well… he ended up attacking his own witness and trying to discredit him after his cross examination testimony didn’t fit the narrative….

Durham rebukes his own witness and slams FBI's Russia probe after trial setbacks | CNN Politics

    Durham attacks his own witness
After Onorato finished, Durham returned for a final round of questioning, but the tone completely changed. Durham and Auten sparred for over an hour. Durham sounded angry at times, and many of Auten’s responses were adversarial, clearly not giving Durham the answers that fit his narrative.

Further proof that Durham and Barr and Trump were correct all along. The Deep State got to his witness.

How much proof do you liberals need that Trump was the victim?

Well that ended with a whimper.

I look forward to @CaptUSMCNole's take on his strong assertions otherwise.
