Draft Alito opinion leaked overturning Roe

Has....has anyone explained how things work to Oklahoma's governor? Because unless SCOTUS does something else that's idiotic and nonsensical, he can't say this.

Oklahoma's GOP governor threatens the state's more than 40 Native American tribes

"Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican, has warned many of the state's Native American tribes that if they allow abortion on sovereign land he will intervene.

"Oklahomans will not think very well of that if tribes try to set up abortion clinics," Stitt said on Fox News Sunday.

"You know, the tribes in Oklahoma are super liberal," he said. "They go to Washington, D.C. They talk to President [Joe] Biden at the White House; they kind of adopt those strategies. So yeah, we think that there's a possibility that some tribes may try to set up abortion on demand. They think that you can be 1/1,000th tribal member and not have to follow the state law. And so that's something that we're watching.""

 

Hannity...trying to call Democrats out on lies and creating a panic, saying abortion wouldn't be banned. LOL

Somewhat related. In soms US states, including Missouri, you cannot file or finalize a divorce if you're pregnant. So a woman would be forced to remain in a marriage against her will, too. As previously posted, the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the US is homicide, usually by an abusive partner. Then there's the loopholes for marital rape (ex if she's incapacitated then she can't tell her husband "no" but since they're married consent is implied).

How does that relate? Simple. Women are being reduced to chattel again. Being forced to stay pregnant will trap more women in abusive relationships unable to get out. Which could very well cost them their lives.

SCOTUS has opened Pandora’s box and it's open season on women.

From what I’ve see women are only marginally more supportive of abortion rights than men.

 

I see that as a credit to some men evolving honestly into seeing women as partners. It's been great to see the number of men at rallies.

 

I wonder how many folks that think an unwanted pregnancy can morph into a Hallmark movie were ecstatic when that late period finally came?

Btw it is possible to get false positives. Even discounting the absolute Handmaid-esque nature of it, what's a woman to do? Go get a blood test to confirm she's not pregnant? So trips delayed days while getting confirmation?

Yep. A lot of abortions are actually couples who can't handle more kids - financially, physically, etc - where contraceptives failed for example. I think that's one reason we see so many men at rallies because it does affect them too.

Most folks nowadays with how expensive life is, how busy, etc, can't handle having 5, 6...10, 11 kids.

And frankly with advancements in IUDs and more men getting vasectomies, women finding the few doctors who will do permanent tube tying/ovary removals, abortions actually have been going down. There's a 10-year IUD out there, for example.

So it really makes ZERO sense and shows these people don't have a brain cell left to not only ban abortions but then ban IUDs and other contraceptives. Which shows once again it's not about the unborn, it's about control and repopulation.
