Even if there was an exception. How do you prove it?

    Sexual Assault Remains Dramatically Underreported

80 percent of rapes and sexual assaults go unreported, according to a Justice Department analysis of violent crime in 2016.

And for a rape victim by the time evidence is gathered, charges are filed, trial happens, and a miraculous conviction happens, that baby would probably be born already.

Interesting that they were inspired to start the study because of Justice Kennedy speculating negatively about the longterm effects of abortion without any data. So they did a study to collect data on the longterm effects of abortion. Turns out Justice Kennedy's speculations were wrong.

A landmark study tracks the lasting effect of having an abortion — or being denied one

Yes this is tiktok. But powerful video about rape, reports, convictions.

For those that can't watch it, huge auditorium where victims or those who knew victims were asked to stand. Those who didn't report were asked to sit. Of those standing how many got justice... 1 person. 1 person in a conference room.

And that's the metric the "exception" folks want to use.

To give her the benefit of the doubt I clicked on the article. Never heard of the site so I clicked on the video to make sure that's what she said.

I believe the exact words after going into all that welfare covers were "why would a woman need to get married if she's married to the government?", then went into how she was against that and how we needed to get back to family units, etc.

So basically, yeah, women shouldn't be on welfare...they should be married. Nevermind that married people go on welfare too. Or *gasp* men.

Unbelievable. Well actually it's MTG so guess it's believable.

    That's definitely unconstitutional.

What is the argument for states rights here?

Why is it ok for a majority to limit the rights of others on a state level?

I mean seriously...wasn't one of the arguments about the Civil War the concept of States' Rights, & how states wanted to determine their own laws without the feds (in that case, slavery)?

Just unreal the damage this is doing and people are okay with it.

(And yes I'm Catholic- pointing out the hypocrisy. As far as I know other Christian denominations also fall under this)

Women have more mobility than ever with more education, better jobs. Good luck to the men NOT in these states because I don't doubt they'll see a major decrease in single women they consider adequate-- dating app guys always looking for thin, pretty, and with a Bachelors or higher.

For women & the men that care...

Edit to add: Florida & NC do not have full bans that kick in with Roe being overturned. They're more restrictive, but they should be on there as well.

Agree, but I am curious what is the actual legal argument here from conservatives.

I listened to Mitch McConnel state that the USSC often makes decisions that go against the majorities opinion when speaking about overturning Roe, but then his preferred solution allows for the majority to take that right away on a state level.

This feels accurate as an assessment of some of the politics:
