My company is on an SG&A freeze as well despite pulling in the second highest operating profit in company history last year. Pretty much the entire C-Suite except the general counsel are republicans but they’re expecting a harder year to come.

This is all they do and why they're losing the American people. No message, just attacks ... no matter how stupid and unsupported those attacks are.

Accurate reporting....you mean accurate downward revisions....it seems like the Biden administration developed an early habit of exaggerating jobs reports and then pulling the falsely elevated numbers back to reality a month or two later so the headlines made it appear job creation was better than it really was.

So I’m confused - are Trump supporters expecting job growth? Even Trump said expect pain. When the pain comes are you all just going to deny it’s here until a good report comes out?

A mite early to give Trump blame or credit for any longterm economic trend

As a reminder, both November and December were adjusted upward this month.

Also, as a reminder, BLS is a bunch of career/non-political employees using methods that stay consistent year-by-year.

There's an entire orchard of that absurdity of wasteful spending.

After all the reporting downward Biden must have had a paltry jobs record, right? Wait, it’s the second highest of any presidency?

Trump wants to purge DC of democrats since they were trying to charge him with felonies for J6. He is trying to purge all gumt democrats because they will not take the knee. Let the people judge his success and or failures. Father time will tell the tale.

Yes, for now there's not much we can do but marvel at the glorious dumpster fire Trump is turning our country into.

So, maybe all the newly unemployed can fill the jobs vacated by millions of deported undocumented immigrants. Trump is creating a safety net of sorts...

Will Trump break the Republican streak and actually leave office with a lower unemployment rate than he inherited?

90% chance its higher when he leaves. Since 1980 it’s been over 4% unemployment 90% of the months. Biden was top tier in employment. So was Obama. Bush and Trump, not so much.

Could be. That’s certainly the norm for the last 70 years or so. Unemployment goes up under Republican presidents and down under democratic ones.

Since many are getting paid off to leave it may not may a big difference. They won’t be looking for work if they got a severance package right away.
Now some may just go get another job right off but I’m not sure how many actually will start applying for UE.

Let’s see, if there is another Pandemic, a Global financial crisis, or huge terrorist attack on the US.

Stocks have had a huge run the last few years. Many of us have been taking profits not because the Admin but because when you’re up 4-500% in a short time it’s wise to do.
I’ve expect a 5-10% pull back since early December.
