They didn’t quit him after he cost y’all the last election. And that culminated in a failed coup attempt on the capital. I hope you’re right but I’ll believe when I see it.

Wake me up when a single congressman or senator on the right condemns him. We saw what happened with the last batch of GOP leaders that did that after Jan 6th. McConnell is one of the few to survive.

Maybe slightly off-topic but it's somewhat ironic that the blue collar workers who constitute Trump's MAGA base and hate "country club Republicans" worship a politician who is an actual resident of a country clubs.

Or Kevin McCarthy who did a full 180 within days of initially condemning Trump in the immediate aftermath of January 6. It must have been quite a sight to watch Kevin grovelling before the Dear Leader begging for his forgiveness.

he was born and raised at the country club, not just some casual resident. DT wouldn't pi$$ on most of MAGA if they were on fire because he doesn't believe they are worthy of his urine. Yet they still worship him...

hope he burns it all down. likely will be the only good thing he has ever done

Trump challengers should be 'ready for war' as he is expected to 'come out swinging' in anticipated 2024 announcement, adviser says (msn.com)

Republican challengers, be warned: former President Donald Trump is expected to "come out swinging" with his 2024 presidential announcement expected next week, an adviser told The Daily Beast.

Trump wanted to launch his presidential campaign on the night before the election, but aides persuaded him to wait. Since then, he has promised a "big announcement" on Tuesday, November 15, though his campaign adviser has encouraged him to wait until after the Georgia runoffs in December, Business Insider previously reported.

"I would expect Trump to come out swinging Tuesday," an unnamed adviser familiar with the matter told the Daily Beast. "People forget that he eviscerated 16 Republicans in 2016 and has kept the entire party in check through fear since then."

DeSantis would be better off staying out of it. Nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Paraphrasing remarks Howard Stern who personally knows Trump made a few years ago, if any of Trump's fans from MAGA world tried to enter the premises of Mar-a-Lago he would have his security staff immediately and forcibly remove them.

Once again I meant no disrespect to you.
If others here have been assholes I’m sorry to hear that.
You were in a tough spot and many here(myself included) helped without a second thought.

I’ve included your first post, the one I initially responded to.

To me helping a friend or neighbor is great but helping an unknown person who is in need means more IMHO.

You seem very upset and once again if some have disparaged you about this that’s shitty, but I don’t think that’s what I have done.

    Good Day.

McCarthy did that gambit with the hopes of being speaker. Possibly the most brazen public flip flop in the history of modem politics. Guy basically just openly tossed all morals and standards aside to kiss the traitors ring, kissing the ring of a guy he’d condemned barely a week earlier. How does that not just destroy his credibility? It’s amazing times we live in.

Would be quite a thing to see him fail to get the votes (even if the GOP controls the house). Would he… resign? He should, but we can be sure if he did it wouldn’t be out of any principle.

I guess that’s some evidence that the GOP/conservatives aren’t so lock step with Trump…

The only way I can see the GOP winning in 2024 is if Trump doesn’t run.

1). Trump run and wins the GOP nom and loses in the general.

2). Trump runs and loses the GOP nom. He either does or does not split off and run as a third party but either way Desantis loses the support of the hardcore Trumpers and loses the general.

Only if the issue was that GOP/conservative voters weren't turning out or were voting Democratic. Any evidence of that? The fact that these folks all won primaries (generally, competitive primaries), suggests the opposite.

The defeat of the Trump-backed candidates is probably more of a reflection that the independents/NPAs voting overwhelmingly Democrat or stayed home rather than voting for the Trump endorsed election deniers than of Republicans/conservative voting Democrat although I'm sure that some probably did so. Also, Trump is so polarizing that he tends to motivate Democrats to vote as much as he motivates his own supporters.

I think DT is smart enough to realize he won’t win as a 3rd party candidate. I think DeSantis will allow him to self-destruct in the primary and Trump will just disappear. He doesn’t handle losing well.

Trump was born with big silver spoon and never wouldn’t come close to associating with many of his followers because of their class.
