So this is a thread in which Trump is being attacked and you would prefer if I was not allowed to show that Trump is being singled out unfairly for things that other politicians also do? The issue is that admitting that Trump is as harmful a force as he was in terms of how he treats people is that it reflects poorly on themselves because that is what they wanted. Very few people are willing to come to grips with that about themselves. They want somebody who is going to attack at least one group that is the object of their resentments. For some people, that is a racial, gender, religious, or sexual orientation group. To others, it is a profession, like media members or college professors. To some, it is people located in an area (e.g, people who live in cities). To some, it is people with a certain level of education. Or money. Or recognized expertise in an area.

Trump build a coalition on resentments because that is all he really is. The problem for them is not that fact, but rather that he is starting to resent people that they like, not just those that they either resent themselves or aren't willing to defend because they are viewed as allies of those that they resent.

 

No, you stated it like it's a fact that he will run independent. Glad you are now realizing that is purely made up in your mind.

 

I think Trump is the only conservative who doesn't play defense and the left cannot stand it that he calls their BS out. Others who do this are Desantis and Lake, and the left will do the same thing to them that they do to Trump and say they are uniquely bad and must be eliminated. They just haven't been around as long as Trump to get the full assault but it will happen. You can already see it.

Hardly. I never liked Trump until he decided to run for office. Too much of an abrasive New Yorker for my taste. I like him for his political views, not because I want to hang out with him.

Also this has nothing to do with me as I am an idiot nobody. I don't think I am any better than any of them. Republican or Democrat.

It's like you want so badly for us to hate you, but we really don't. We disagree with you, but we love you as human beings just the same. Well maybe not the same, but we do love you. Trump could have stayed on offense without all of the lies, name-calling, irresponsible rhetoric, and the pursuing of personal grudges at the expense of even his own party. Many on the left will hate whoever the Republican leader is. Many on the right hated Obama, too. But I think the Democratic party would have a hard time trying to convince moderate Republicans and independents that DeSantis is personally the same as Trump or that DeSantis poses the same institutional dangers as Trump. There's a reason why a lot of Republicans are bailing on Trump now.

 

I disagree, and I think we all get along way better out in the real world than we do on these political discussion boards.
