Completely agree. Which is why in another thread last week I said the best thing that could happen to the Republican Party is that Trump dies in his sleep.

Well for the past 8 years a certain contingent has been egging him on and putting the battery in his back to continue talking because they love that he "tells it like it is," of course he's not going to shut his trap now.

    Actually, MANY people are saying.

Why does no one ask exactly WHO these many people are? I know it’s meant to be a shotgun blast of shit bullets, but I wish someone would stop that line from introducing total made up horseshit from making its way into the mainstream conversation.

Yesterday was an indictment of Trump and his supporters. Hopefully it opens the eyes of enough of his sheep that propping him up in 2024 is a dead end and they put him out to pasture. I'm optimistic.

I know, I was being sarcastic.

Trump probably has dug up some dirt on Desantis, but as someone else said it doesn’t even matter. When he rolls out a “people are saying” you can bet it’s horse crap and “the people” are his own sycophants. He’s been doing that since birtherism, but in reality I’m sure well before in his private life (i mean this is a guy who used aliases to call media in order to praise himself lol).

If this is redundant I apologize since I was off the board most of the day yesterday. If Trump loses or if it appears that he will lose the Republican nomination to DeSantis I wouldn't put it beyond him to run as a third party/independent candidate in 2024. Trump didn't do so in 2016 in part because he really didn't expect to win the nomination. This time around he needs redemption and if he cannot win the nomination he will "show" that party leadership and the voters who denied him the nomination that they cannot win without him at the top of the ticket.

What will you do if Trump is actually repudiated? I worry about a few good folks over at CNN as well. They may lose their reason for living.

Trump will never be “repudiated” because mentally he cannot absorb that reality. He will always think he is winning.

The dirt on DeSantis is that he's just a bad person. He does that in public. It's open and obvious. It's his record.

I've never heard that there's any real dirt in the conventional sense of the political term. He is considered very socially awkward and a bad speaker who has to rigidly control his environment to come off OK. People who meet him, even those who are ideologically sympathetic, don't click with him. His wife is actually supposed to be his secret weapon. Very likable and congenial

And let's not pretend that wasn't a large part of his appeal in the first place and continued to be.
"Boy, he really told them off!!!"

DeSantis won't have to dig deeper than court records for the dirt on Trump.

Perhaps DT provided DeS some personal entertainment services before. Kompromat isn't reserved for Russians.

Trump has demonstrated that he is incapable of accepting a loss. If DeSantis should end up with the nomination Trump would blowup the Republican party rather than endorsing “Ron De-Sanctimonious". For Trump it's always been all about the Donald rather than the Republican Party. Keep in mind that in a winner take all Electoral College system even a very small number of votes could be enough to shift the results of a presidential election and Trump as a third party candidate should be able to get a least ten percent of the vote especially in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
