So which politicians was he talking about when he said "We pledge to you that we will root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country"?

Trump was certainly not very bright. And he got his ass handed to him in the only debate that he had with Harris, when his fountain of lies was exposed by the moderators. He won by insisting that raising tariffs was a smart thing to do, pretending that other countries would pay those tariffs and the U.S. would be as successful as it was during the 1890's (when the U.S. had a 4-year depression and a 2-year recession). Protectionism has never worked.

The real reason that the dems lost this election is that they pandered almost exclusively to the upper middle class, those making over $100k per year (college graduates, etc.). Harris won that demographic fairly easily. There are not enough people in that demographic to win the country. Harris needed to explain to those who did not go to college, and do not make over $100k/yr, how her policies would benefit them. She talked (only rarely) about raising the minimum wage, but always in abstract terms that sound like an empty promise (just like Obama made years ago: "a rising tide lifts all boats"). She should have mentioned a specific plan to raise minimum wage (how much of a raise and on what schedule) as her goal. She should have made a promise about not increasing taxes on manufacturing businesses.

A lot of republicans are tradesmen, factory workers, and in other blue-collar jobs. Obviously, they long for a time period like the 1950's when American blue collar workers were doing so well. They resent factory owners for sending jobs overseas, and they resent immigrants for coming in and taking some of the remaining factory jobs (meat packing, etc.) even if they do not want to work those factory jobs. The Fifties are not coming back. It was a special decade for the American factory worker, because U.S. factories were untouched by WWII, and were sold out making products for the U.S. AND Europe as Europe recovered from the war. No president is going to intentionally re-make those conditions, because it requires going through WWIII to get there. And some factory jobs are less desirable than others--textile mill jobs were intentionally shed over the years because the U.S. could not compete with cheaper labor overseas. Some factories pollute too much. No one wants an oil refinery in their back yard because of the smell.

Righties are not necessarily dumb. They just fell for an ignorant, delusional con-man. Hopefully, both parties will learn some good lessons from this disaster of an election and not repeat it. And hopefully, Trump will not be completely senile before his term ends.

From Rachael Maddow's lips to your keyboard. Did you even read what you just typed? If you did, you would realize that you are just another one of the brain washed heard walking around with their MSNBC/MSM playbook. How about some original thought. You dems make it too easy. Lol.:D

Does the data indicate that they are grossly misinformed?

One can be smart and still be terribly misinformed.

What it tells me is that someone that they trust is giving them wrong information, ie they are putting their trust in false prophets.

Doesn't the Bible say something about that?

How about I start with “Trump is not very bright.” That is complete BS that only a MSM sheep could possibly believe.

The rest are just the usual talking points that have been refuted all over this site. Just look around you can do the work.

You dems are all alike. How about having a rational, original thought rather than just parroting the MSM.

They told you that she was gonna win and you still trust them! What is wrong with you? It is like Stockholm syndrome.

My advice to you is to find your safe space and cry it out. The sun will come up tomorrow and she still will have lost big, but you can get through this. Eventually you will cry a little less every day and then you will be fine.

As a fellow Gator fan, I am rooting for your recovery. YOU CAN DO IT!

What proof would you accept he isn't bright? Grades? Speech analysis? Word salads?

You state your opinion as fact without exploratory dialog. That's weak.

Really? Much of that was new to me. SHOW ME WHERE THE POINTS WERE REFUTED.

Who said I was a Dem? FYI... I am actually trying to get you into a rational dialog and failing.

Who is 'they' and how do you know I trust 'them'? Straw man garbage, dude.

    Grow up.

BTW... I wouldn't classify your rhetoric as ignorant.

I was mostly speaking to the poster that you quoted, but since you are here…

Do you really think that Donald Trump is not bright? Give me some facts that support that. Do you really think that this guy became the president of the United States by being an idiot? The answer is no! Also tell me what qualifies YOU to judge this man’s intellect. Are you a human IQ tester?

As for the rest of your ridiculous post, do your own research.

I am a grown up and I can accept reality unlike many on this site.

I asked you what evidence you would accept that he is bright. Since I never made an assertion on this matter, your response is a straw man argument.

You are not good at this.

That's called shifting the burden. Three times I've asked to support your statements and yet you deflect.

You are not honorable at this.

By positioning yourself as more mature and capable of accepting reality, you are suggesting you hold the correct perspective solely because you view yourself as more "grown-up," without actually providing any substantive argument. This is an appeal to superiority fallacy. Boo.

I wouldn't classify your arguments as ignorant.

He is the President of the United States of America. He is also a successful business man. He is obviously a great negotiator. For someone with no foreign policy experience, he was sure feared and respected by our rivals. He has a unique ability to not only communicate but resonate with all classes of Americans. This dude is pretty smart. I know that you don’t want to hear it. But it is true.

Hmm... six bankruptcies. Not allowed to run a business or charity in NY. In almost 2 billion dollars in debt. Brilliant!

Hahahahahaha... I'd like to point out his many failures during his first presidency. North Korea denuclearization, ACA repeal and replacement, congressional funding for his border wall, Iran nuclear deal withdrawal that he couldn't get re-negotiated, China trade negotiations that broke down and led to a trade war. I could go on.

A crackhead with a machete is feared, but not for his intelligence. Or maybe a toddler with a loaded gun is a better analogy.

Hence his 34% approval rating when he left office.

Again, assuming what someone else is thinking. SAD!

All that and he is the leader of the free world. He won by a landslide. Who is the smart one here. I am thinking he is quite a bit smarter than you.

Also, speaking of the MSM playbook. I think you just hit most of it. Lol

Good thing the View comes on tomorrow so that you can get more ammo.

Trump's a fool. Have you ever even listened to the man speak? He says some of the dumbest stuff I've ever heard. Did you hear the one about the sharks and and the batteries?

You are a parrot. Keep regurgitating the MSM playbook. It didn’t work then and it certainly doesn’t work now.
