LOL. Yeah I can’t watch anything longer than 10 seconds from the 10-12 minutes I spend on X a day…

Enjoy NPR and their “unbiased” reporting LOL.

And make some reform for Congress's benefits like paying for insurance.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not that guy in your head. I don't watch NPR for the same reason I don't watch FOX. I know this is a hard concept for MAGA to grasp, but it's actually true.

It’s just weird - for years both sides have been concerned over big techs influence on government but now half of us are ok letting them in the front door? Like this seems like such a bad idea to let corporate execs think they can openly run things right?

What kind of insurance do you think they should be paying for?

I’m giggling just thinking of these 3 working together.

MTG will chair the house version of DOGE and will work with the Elon and Vivek DOGE group.

Greene to chair new DOGE subcommittee on Oversight next Congress | CNN Politics

I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and the entire DOGE team” Greene said in a statement to CNN. “Our subcommittee’s work will expose people who need to be FIRED. The bureaucrats who don’t do their job, fail audits like in the Pentagon, and don’t know where BILLIONS of dollars are going, will be getting a pink slip.”

Who’s Maga? See if someone were to label you far left because of your posting history it would be much more appropriate than you referring to someone who has never cast a vote for Trump as maga. But you keep thinking that way. Seems brilliant…

Blah, blah, blah, blah. You're as MAGA as MTG. That you try to run from this - while clinging to Trump's nuts on every post - is laughable. Have a nice day. We're done here Sport.

I'd be willing to bet that it would be more expensive to mothball them than to just keeping them up and running.

Well, not sure myself but according to ChatGPT: Operating an aircraft carrier in the US Navy costs around $6-8 million per day.

We have 12 or 13 of them.

How to make Elon Musk’s budget-slashing dreams come true

Here is an article by the Economist on some changes that could be initiated by Musk & Swamy. I know some may not be able to access so here's a synopsis:

    America's Fiscal Challenges:
    • National debt approaches 100% of GDP, up from 35% in 2007.
    • Federal deficits run at 6% of GDP, risking unsustainable debt growth.
    Potential Solutions for Cost Savings:
    • Discretionary Spending: Cap growth at 2% annually, saving $500 billion over a decade.
    • Social Security and Medicare: Raise eligibility ages for savings of $1 trillion in 10 years.
    • Health Care: Reforms, such as federal Medicaid caps and cost standardization, could save $900 billion to $1.65 trillion.
    • Tax System: Reduce deductions, phase out outdated credits, and strengthen the IRS, potentially increasing revenue by $1.4 trillion over a decade.
    Challenges to Implementation:
    • Political resistance to budget cuts, tax reforms, or IRS expansion.
    • Congressional approval is necessary for major fiscal changes, making DOGE’s success contingent on navigating political hurdles.

Mothballing a nuclear carrier, all the weapons, etc. is a very extensive and expensive process. Decommissioning is a very extensive and expensive process, and in this case we would assume they would be recommissioned at some point, which would be just as extensive and expensive a process.

Not sure what the real numbers are, but it's not like parking it in a storage lot and walking away until you're ready to use it again.

Companies looking forward to treating their customers like crap in oligopoly and monopoly industries. Awesome.

Delta CEO says the Trump administration will reverse government ‘overreach’ seen under Biden

The chief executive of Delta Air Lines says the incoming Trump administration will be a “breath of fresh air” for airlines after what he calls government “overreach” under President Joe Biden.

The airline industry has chafed under consumer-protection regulations imposed by the Biden administration. And Delta is facing a federal investigation into its slow recovery from a global technology outage this summer.

An interesting article that looks at what federal jobs might be cut under Trump's "efficiency program." Three of the top five paying jobs in government are medical jobs, with many of those jobs tied up in the CDC and in Veteran's Affairs. Trump has little use for people preventing viruses, and he is openly disdainful of the military, so no surprise there. It's a shame that veterans have to suffer while viruses prosper under Trump, but that's what republicans want. Financial workers toiling at the FDIC have a large number of the top-20 jobs. It's a shame that the banking system may have to collapse, but that's what republicans want. As far as average salaries for cabinet-level agencies, Departments of Education and Energy have the highest. It's a shame our education system will have to be gutted and our natural resources depleted ("Drill, Baby, Drill" is the mantra of the uneducated) while Global Warming does even more damage, but that's what republicans want.

DOGE aims to cut the number of federal workers. Here are the 20 highest-paying federal jobs.

I think what it was suggesting was that everyone (or most people) in the department made that kind of coin. Apparently, most federal departments have a mixture of higher-paid employees and lower-paid employees.
