Does Kirby go get a different OC

That's kind of true, but if you add the names of the quarterbacks who actually won the SEC over the last 10 to 15 years, it's a combination of talent and a superior quarterback. The difference this year is that there aren't superior quarterbacks playing for the top programs in the SEC

 

Bobo is Kirby's frat brother and I believe was in his wedding. I have a hard time seeing him fired after this year. Now if UGA takes another step back next year (which is possible with Stockton), then that could be another story.

 

I think Bowl Cut (or Captain Kangaroo as he was nicknamed in the game thread) has built an unstable structure. Over-paying to steal or recruit players gives him a group of mercenaries . . . who will just demand more next year and the year after. He poached ETN and got fool's gold. He went after Rashada to get a dig at Florida and threw away $$$ and a good spot for an actual productive QB. Set the floor high for what players are worth (if QB4 is getting that much I should be getting at least that much and probably 2X or 3X that much!). Even my 11-year old grandson now understands when he sees ETN in the game it will be a run play or a quick pass. They made their bed. I hope that QB is who we see next year! ETN will likely have transferred somewhere else though. Sorry for the long post everybody but I really despise that program and everything they represent.

 

These team like Ole Miss, FSU, LSU and UGA seem to hire mercenary players that don't always mesh together like teams that have played years with one and other like a team that starts from high school.

I like a healthy team made mostly from high school kids, but we all know that holes develop when players leave or don't pan out, and that's when the portal should be used to supplement our team. Napier seems to use it the right way, and not like a primary way to load up on one and done play-for-pay players.

Their OC is not my concern, but I wanted to add here that I hope we get an OC to help Napier with his workload.

It seems that teams that work hard to get the good character players from high school from the beginning are the teams I like about Napier. The best thing about Napier is his skill in the talent acquisition part of his job. He seems to get players from high school that on average play better than their star ratings. And he does mostly well in the portal.

That's the best of both worlds. Now... can we just get the NIL to keep the good ones that he has signed out of high school? Losing the talented players that have been with us since graduating from high school is preventable.

Get an OC and keep most of our position coaches and upgrade the ones we can. I won't get into which coaches Napier should switch out, but he seems to know how to do that part of his job well enough.

If your quarterback sucks, get a new quarterback. Getting another coach and still having a suck ass quarterback doesn't really help much.

His receivers can't catch the freaking ball. He needs a new receiver's coach too.

I would be very surprised if Bobo is not jettisoned out of Athens soon, buddy or no buddy. He’s not a good OC, at all. The mutt fans have been barking about him all year. Mike Bobo is “moving on” is how it will be dressed up.

 

Expect it to be like Muschamp last year, he will be moving down to analyst to "spend more time with his family"

 

I think Kirby should double down, insist that Bobo is good at calling plays and that he enjoys Bobo calling plays and stay the course.

I'm not hating on Bobo as much as the rest. Think about it, their QB only played half a game every Saturday. The other half he was tossing it to the other team. His receiving corps aren't as good as the past. No more Bowers. Etienne, is good, but he's mostly been hurt and inconsistent this year.

Their best player was the guy in pajamas slam dancing the ref. Doh. Suicide watch for that poor bastard.

Maybe the dynasty has taken a hit? Saban was around at the right time. Man, things have changed. Fan bases are all mental and jaded too.

Hopefully, Napier's slow build is gonna work for us.

We barked about Grantham the entire time he was at UF. Didn't make a difference. Fans barking doesn't matter as much as you seem to think. Case in point, BN is still at UF.
