I think so. We were tied with Duke, but got the nod for third because of 3 first place votes (none for Duke). Bama will lose their 23 first place votes, most of which will go back to Auburn. If some of those votes come to us, we should easily jump them.
I would say yes. We got an impressive blowout win at Miss State and then did what we were supposed to against South Carolina. Duke beat the two horrid California ACC teams.
We will be #2 or #3 depending on any SEC backlash. Likely, the SEC will have 5 in the first 6 (Auburn, Florida, Bama, Tennessee and A &M)
Why does it matter? Just take care of our own business. I ask in ignorance. Maybe it is important but I don't understand bracketology, so there's that...
Seeding is always important but winning will take care of everything. In our first NC, we were not a #1 seed as we were in our second NC.
Without that tip in by brewer against Georgetown, we wouldn’t have won the first and we don’t know if the guys still would have returned the next year. You always need a little luck in the tournament. Hopefully fortune is with the gators again.
I agree that #2,3,4 etc don’t matter much as all should get you a #1 seed unless the committee shakes seedlings up slightly. But I’d say getting and holding that #1 at any time is interesting. Not like UF has a ton of time up there. So I guess it matters in the sense being #2 gets you in best position to inherit #1 should Auburn slip up.
Are you thinking of the wild, spinning 3 pt play (that probably should have been called on the floor, lol)? Yes, the margin is always so darn thin come March.
Just need to keep winning and getting better. Everything else will sort itself out. Seeding is extremely important, as UConn is the only team since the 1990s to win it all and they did it twice as a lowest seed to win it all. More #1 seeds have won it all and 95% of the Top 3 seeds in each bracket have won it all. If you want to win it all, you need to be seeded in the Top 3 to have the best chances. EDIT: I saw that we were playing today and didn't see the tiny WBK logo so my bad. No fear for any loss before the next rankings, but I still stand by the rest of my reply. Just win and everything will play out like we want.
Duke blew out a #89 net Stanford team at home, while we blew out a #80 net SC team at home. I'd say that's a wash, but have a feeling it will be Duke at #2 and us remaining at #3
