You know, since we ARE the laughing stock of the entire college football landscape. BUT, at least we did not have to live the misery of signing Izaiah Williams, thank GOD!

I didn't say any the things you are implying. All I said was that recruiting ranking are indicators of who is getting the best talent. Of course, part of the equation is developing the talent you get and we've been deficient in that area as well. But to say that recruiting ranking don't is simply ridiculous. Back when our commit class was ranked #3, a lot of poster who crowing about that. But now that we've dropped to $16, the rankings don't matter. Interesting.

As much as it hurts me to say it we are just getting blown away by the portal. That is what has helped Lame Kitten. He has the morals of an alley cat and has been buying players.

It has made his program decent but not great.

So, the portal has to be emphasized more because the athletes are older and it is a little easier to see who has the ability to succeed.

The answer is to pick out who you think will develop and pay them what they want, I guess.

Someone needs to have deep pockets if we want to win.

Totally agree. The portal is how Mike Norvell turned around FSU so quickly. He found quality players who could step into void on their existing roster and not only start, but be some of his better players. To me, working the transfer portal has become just as important as recruiting high school kids.

Billy is still a better recruiter than Dan Mullen and it's not even close. Ive been on record already that I don't think Billy is the one but Dan didn't have anywhere near the caliber of player Billy has been able to get to look at and commit to Florida and its not really close. One thing, I'd bet NIL simply ruined just about every advantage Billy had/has recruiting wise. This is not his game and thats fine, it just means we cant have him here as we need someone who can own it and thrive in that with money to back it up. Dan was a wet blanket and didn't want to recruit. Billy's problem is a lot of the guys that actually committed have gone one way or another which again, wouldn't have been the case without NIL.

I'm sure Billy was a cracker-jack recruiter when he was at Bama. Of course any Tom, Dick, or Harry can be a cracker-jack recruiter while working at Bama.

Not from me. I have always said "trust the coach...until you don't."

Again, for your purview, you DO realize that those darn 3-star talents (allegedly) brings down rankings against "those other rankings", correct? And so, why do we do it and try to sign them?
