The NCAA handbook implies that the answer is no, because the player must be enrolled in classes to play. Football is a fall sport, and the UF fall semester ends December 7--after transfer portal opens. The bowl games are considered an extension of the fall semester. This was an issue at one time when bowl games such as the CFP extended into the spring semester, so the NCAA ruled that the football post-season is part of the fall semester. Furthermore there is a rule about playing for two schools in the same season: References Want to Transfer? Players in the transfer portal can play in bowl games Edit: The link above that reads “players in transfer portal can play in bowl games” refers to players who enter the portal at the end of the fall semester and play in a bowl game for the team they are about to leave.
Miller is practicing and I would think he goes. Had a separate setback during season that slowed return down
I think it is more important to win the recruiting battle and to bring int top flight talent that is properly coached. Our running game will win us 5 games next year even without Torrence! I would rather have a young and untarnished QB who comes in and starts at a school known for Heisman QB winners (all who came here as freshmen) his freshman year than a controversial QB who was run out of South Carolina.
Napier has announced that Miller will start the bowl game, but only if Miller can thumb a ride to Vegas. "That will show me," Napier said, "that he has really bought in."
My initial question should of read any transfer. Thank you to those who reminded me about being enrolled in classes to play. I am sure there's a dental student that can throw the football if Miller doesn't make it to Vegas...
