DJ has a knack for putting it in perfect position but I wouldn't say Leak struggled with hitting in stride at all.
I agree with most of the posts on this thread. The ironic thing about DJ's injury is that it: Was basically a non contact injury. He was not trying to stretch the play. Once he saw that he was going to be stopped, he dove to the turf. The play he was running was not a high risk for injury. I strongly agree that DJ learned that there is value of knowing how to play in the pocket and knowing when to run with the ball. This makes him a major pain in the ass to plan for and to defend. Hopefully he will not miss any more games as a Gator and have a long and productive career in the NFL.
I remembered your signature, which is still funny. I've been posting on this board for a LONG time and I can usually recognize most of the old-timers.
Leak was a great QB with great accuracy but lacked the arm strength of DJ. And, the offenses they ran benefited Leak.
Sure. No argument about arm strength but he was very accurate and the offense under Zook benefited leak, Meyer not nearly as much. Testament to leak that he stayed productive after the transition. If the portal was what it is now I wonder if he would have stayed.
I just hope he can move well in the pocket and stay upright. If he can run, what a blessing that would be.
