As if you did not know that "consequences" for doing something is by definition "punishment". So, in essence, what you said was "There is punishment for free speech." You make a fool of yourself by arguing that way.

    Really?

You tell me. Does your kid have free speech when they get punished for saying something you want to make them aware of?

Go tell your boss off tomorrow and see what happens.

You have no clue what “Free Speech” means. Sad. But reality. You and Disney are Free to Speak as you wish!!!

You just admitted that it would be "punishment" for the free speech you mentioned: "supporting a false narrative about your employer". You just made the point that all of us have been making, which you have constantly rejected. You are making a fool of yourself!

It is consequences. You have the ability to speak as you wish as does Disney.

How can I argue with someone who doesn't understand basic laws or even the Constitution? Not only that, you are so rigid in your beliefs that any argument made would be tossed aside anyhow. There is no logical point to continue to argue with people so entrenched in their beliefs they will dismiss anything counter. Hell, someone thinks they are at WAR. War?!?

Brilliant. I'm sure if DeSantis's lawyers use this defense in Disney's lawsuit against him it will work out just great for DeSantis.

You are doing it again! No...most kids do not have the right of free speech. Most parents PUNISH them for saying things in their presence that they have forbid. Thanks for making our point.

And in the case of Disney the consequences should not be in the form of a probably unlawful act by an overly sensitive and butt hurt governor,

You don't give classically liberal courtesies to people who crap on classically liberal values. You treat them the way they treat you, or as recent history has shown, they will club you into silence. It's not a matter of if, but when. And when that happens, that classical liberalism dream is just that and nothing more.

When I say "either agree to our values or eat the consequences of your own," that's exactly what I'm talking about.

Edit: I would add that the State of Florida authorized the Reedy Creek special district in 1968 to facilitate the development of Disney World and that there are 1800 special districts in the state including the Villages and the the Daytona Speedway and its surrounding area. By the way it's not just Disney that benefits from the special district it's also the residents of Orange and Osceola Counties.

Well when you do not understand the Constitution like yourself. It can be tough. I am thankful and I am blessed to be born as a US Citizen (fun fact…I was born in Okinawa Japan at Kadena).

Thankfully we have the Right to Free Speech. But there can be consequences to that Free Speech. The beauty of the “Right”. Now if Disney was somehow truly punished (taxed/fined/etc) for saying something. You would have a point. They just lost special privileges others did not have. That is consequences and not a violation of the First Amendment!

What are you basing this on? Do you have legal training of any kind? Just because you believe that, it does not make it true. My SIL, is a partner at DLA Piper. A FedSoc member. She votes red. She is of the opinion that Desantis overstepped his authority. He will lose badly in court. And without some as of yet undiscovered legal doctrine, he is in serious trouble of losing. Outside of your opinion, what legal doctrine are you basing your opinion on? Your thing about Disney having perceived special privileges is meaningless. Do you want me to call her on speaker phone? Do you have a pen and paper? She will cite a bunch of case law, of that I am sure. You ready?
