This was exciting news on one front, but may reveal wider industry issues not specific to Disney, namely the over investment in streaming. So many issues implicated.

Iger is a fantastic CEO and this is a huge win for Disney and a huge win for them against Desantis, in which Desantis was already backing down.

 

Making a movie with characters my kids can relate to instead of stuffing gay and women rights down my throat.

 

The woke for me are people who are more concerned about the .001% making life difficult, creating environment impossible to navigate for fear of misspeaking or not bowing to the woke. For those with traditional values, we are made out to be the enemy of the left agenda.
It’s Primarily libbies who complain about life not being fair. Excessive accommodations.

I suspect this is much like crime, the narrative doesn't match the reality.

 

I don't think "traditional values" should be shoved down anyone's throat. The point is that the movies that Disney made in the 90's, if made today, would have a random gay or trans character that has nothing to do with the story placed in it. Lighting McQueen would have been gay (for no reason) or there would have been a Mrs. and Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story (also for no story reason other than to show how great we are for showcasing being a lesbian).

 

That probably explains a lot. My kids are young and Disney has/had some influence on my children.
I can’t think of a newer movie since like 2016 that didn’t have a gay inference or main character in it.
Also, tired of the white males getting shit on.
My kids notice it all on their own.
