I have not read extensively on this topic, however, a quick search on Google scholar shows a number of journal articles which say it’s a complex issue cannot be described entirely to biology. Environments also play a major part.

Seen the same. But either way, it is fully formed and largely immutable from early on

I see we just skipped past the grammar police portion of the program?

25% is nothing but an intolerant, narrow minded, made up number based on bias.

But you do you mr pRoGrEsSiVe.

Rocinante, I don't think people, or at least most of them that I know, feel it will "keep them from being gay" anymore than 3 year olds hearing talk about sex will keep them virgins. I think the issue is, what should young kids see/hear and who makes that choice?

I think at 3 years old that all sexual topics should be 100% in the hand of parents... and only the parents.

I think discussions about race that go much below the surface should be age appropriate too. (I wouldnt want my 3 year old hearing stories of lynchings and things that could be traumatic for instance).

Thank you for sharing your story though. It certainly gives perspective on what is a hot button issue and reminds us that even in disagreement, we are dealing with peoples lives and that care and love should always be the approach even in disagreement.

Depends on the age. You can't convince me a 3 year old knows they are pansexual. You might convince me a 12 year old knows they are gay. An 18 year old can do whatever the hell they want.

Yup the members of the GOP writ large, suck balls. Some I assume are good people (the ones that have simply forgotten to switch their registration to independent or DemoncRAT)

If so, that is on the parents, not the state.

I think at some point it can be broached in natural conversation that isn’t a discussion about sexuality. I think 5th grade is pushing it, but not crazy either. 3 years old is nutso.

One observation or question I have reading your words….I think it’s very important for parents to teach their kids from a very young age that no matter who they are or who they turn out to be, you will love them unconditionally and will literally walk through a thousand miles of fire to rescue them. I wonder if your parents let you know this enough. To me that’s more important than teaching a child specifically about homosexuality. And you can safely start that from a very young age. Parents also need to lead by example on this front. So when they find out the child is gay, congratulations should be given to the child at that time and the parents should reaffirm their unconditional love at that time to make sure the child knows. And again, actions speak louder than words. We don’t have to go into the graphic details if we follow this simple principle. Just my humble observation. Be well.

Relevant? From a time when America was great. Even then Hollywood tried to sneak thru blatant sexuality to children with gender bending

In the interview with Mike Wallace, Serling discusses being shut down by sponsors for trying to address the Emmett Till case, and receiving many complaints from a “lunatic fringe of letter writers” about an episode of Lassie wherein the iconic collie has puppies. Some wacko viewers felt that the episode promoted sexuality. The complaints lead the station to shy away from presenting the birth of puppies in the future according to Serling.

Plus the gender bending aspect of a male giving birth! Somehow the Republic survived

Rod Serling explains how censorship led to the creation of ‘The Twilight Zone’

Really fair point PG, if a person can not be swayed to sexual activity outside of their preference or birth inclination, than how would one explain a gay man having heterosexual sex?

Fact is one can indeed be swayed.

Kind of like in the Jim Crow days? Or do you disagree with the efforts of the "state" to do away with institutional discrimination? (Lest you believe the two are different, I'd respond only in degree, i.e., numbers affected by the discrimination.)

Fail. I’m a political centrist. The GOP has lurched to right of well I can’t invoke the name but you know. Fiscally I’m quite conservative I support a robust safety net, targeted spending cuts and tax hikes.

I didnt say any of that was ok. I am just shooting back at the idea that influence or circumstances can't change you to the point of having sexual activity outside of your preference (born or otherwise).

By the way, I was told by a certain far left posted recently that calling it a "preference" was a highly offensive term, so beware.

Ok? Yet you are still intolerant with the name calling and overboard generalizations.

To the extent we have fully left those days, which is a doubtful proposition, that is what they are trying to return to
