DiMare “stepping down” as Miami coach

Discussion in 'GatorGrowl's Diamond Gators' started by Gatorgal04, Jun 8, 2023.

  1. Throwing their Friday ace against Maine in the 1 v 4 matchup was just hilariously awful, they were up 7-0 through 2 innings as expected. We saw how that played out over the course of last weekend.

I did see something about South Carolina speculation on Kingston being interested in Coral Gables, he certainly wouldn't be their first choice but I don't think Sully would mind it.

As to Dimare's recruiting consider U Miami is in one the best recruiting hotbeds in all the US.

Dade County, Broward and West Palm, etc. are loaded with the best players around. Add to that the Caribbean which Miami has eagerly mined in the past and there is no reason Miami should not consistently be among the top teams in the US.

Other things being equal it is this reason why Sully will never leave the Gators. He knows full well what an amazing base the state of Florida is.

There may be additional reasons but run of the mill recruiting contributed strongly to bringing Dimare down .

Where did you see this report about Kingston?
