Did the Florida Rowdy Reptiles Storm Billy Donovan Court?

We tore the goal post down when we beat uga back in the mid 80s...I remember seeing people carrying even the first down markers and chain out of the stadium...

 

Not our proudest moment, but the current UF students were 3-7 years old when we last won a NC. Been 15 years.
Let ‘em celebrate!

The players enjoyed it. I am not going to tell their fans to"get off my lawn'" because we are "Better than that." What's next? Tell Kowacie to "get a haircut?"

 

You are a level headed poster. He’s a sunshine pumper. Always an excuse for white injuries bad luck etc. Even when he criticizes Mike white it’s followed by a compliment or a yeah but.

The only game I have ever attended at UF that might have merited a court storming is when Peep hit the game winning three in Jarvis Hayes' face after those guy were matching each other shot for shot down the stretch. Back then the end line seats had no barrier to the court. I often had to walk on the floor to get to my seat. It would have been easy to storm the court.

The crowd went crazy but allowed the players to have the court for their celebration.

Anyone remember Matt Walsh getting attacked during a court storming?

 

Had to be. Didn’t happen at the game in Gainesville.

 

Yeah, I was at that game. My sophomore year at UF. Great fun. Back then, we had never won anything. Not even a conference title, much less a natty. Plus, we had been dominated by uga for a long time. Things are different now.

 

Kowacie... if you're reading this get a haircut you bum. You need to look respectable and get a high top fade like I had as a freshman. 90's hairstyles >

 

Would always rather see us err on the side of too much enthusiasm than not enough. Nobody got hurt, nothing malicious, just some good ol' fashioned expression of joy. Not worried about image or any of the "get off my lawn" type mentality. This was a positive experience for the team and the fans who got to join in. Hopefully we get back to the point to where we don't feel the need to rush the court. Not sure if they still do it, but Duke used to be on the court after every game. Kind of had to to leave efficiently. TAMU in football let everybody on the field after the game. The liability crowd tends to take the joy out of everything; I'll stick with the fun crowd.
