Fleming had 2 first half fouls, while Appleby seems to have been dinged up. Still not sure what Felder's health is an was surprised that Gatkek didn't play when matched up for a few minutes against Ware
Tough game for that bunch. Appleby with 0 assists and Phlan going 0-for-9 shooting. Felder got 1min . Castleton played a heck of a game, but can't win against good teams by himself.
Appleby said he was 100% prior to the game. Just didn’t make great decisions today with passes or shot selection. Got to be on the top of your game when you play Kentucky and he didn’t play his best basketball. Even Castleton started slow, missing shots that he normally makes and taking hook shots outside of his comfort zone. He seemed intimidated by Tshiebwe early but settled down as the game progressed. Although he never did show any opposition to Tshiebwe on defense the entire game. Reeves’ playing time has decreased lately as it seems he is still learning what is a good from a bad shot. Lane has improved while Reeves has regressed a bit. Lane is the best defensive player on the team.
I would have agreed if Felder hadn't been limited to one minute and Fleming didn't have 2 first half fouls. We were down 12 at the half and Gatkek has given us 5-6 solid minutes. I also wonder if CC's shoulder was acting up from banging with Oscar?
Every one of our guys played dazed from getting punched in the face in Lexington. Hard to beat a good team when not one of ours could start for theirs.
Posted it earlier, UF does not win a player to player match up at any of the five pisitions. Arguably our best offensive player, CC whom had a very good stat line, still lost if you consider head to head with Oscar. KY is better at every position, probably accounts for the fact they are a #2 seed projection. The Most difficult match up UF faced this season and the results demonstrate that.
Agreed. UK is just flat out better. Gators could beat them on any given day if the shots are falling, but they are the superior squad. No shame in admitting that. But, I'll say this... If they didn't have Tschiebwe, I think Gators are pretty even with UK. The guy killed us both games. Have to imagine if they got half of his production from another player starting in his place (which is still a decent stat line), Gators likely win at least one of the games. That's how dominant Tschiebwe has been. Just goes to show how one player can make your team be a title contender.
If they didn’t have Tschiebe, they probably would have had Kofi Cockburn through the transfer portal.
