    Irony and hypocrisy?

Surely you're talking about ANY talk of "democracy" from a supporter of the convicted felon who enacted a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election. (Or the criminal organization that enables that criminal. )

    Mic drop, conversation over.*

    * Unless OP has more to say about....hypocrisy.

I'm sorry you don't understand. Especially since it's really not that complicated.

In one sentence : it's laughably hypocritical to hear complaints about not respecting democracy from a supporter of the person or party (Trump and Trumppublicans) who enacted or supported a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election.

Hopefully that wasn't too difficult for you to understand.

Yeah, the fact that political parties are not state actors was part of the basis for Judge Windsor's ruling in the lawsuit about the Democrats not placing Democratic challengers on the ballot. Not sure if anything else happened after that ruling, but as someone else noted, I thought there was precedent for parties doing this when an incumbent was in office.

    https://floridaphoenix.com/2024/01/...irms-no-fl-dem-presidential-primary-in-march/

Michael Steinberg, a former chairman of the Hillsborough County Democratic Party, filed a lawsuit last month, claiming that the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) had violated his constitutional rights as a voter when they chose to only place Biden on the ballot back in November.

But Federal Judge Allen Winsor ruled on Friday that Steinberg had failed to clearly establish a substantial likelihood of success on the merits of his case.

“[H]e has not shown that his asserted injury – the absence of other candidates on the ballot—is redressable by an injunction against the present Defendants. This means he has not shown a likelihood that he has standing to pursue his claims,” Winsor wrote in his decision. “Second, he has not shown a likelihood that there is a constitutional violation at all because the decision at issue was the FDP’s decision to certify only one candidate, and the FDP is not a state actor.”

Steinberg had said specifically that the party’s decision to exclude Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips, New Age author Marianne Williamson and media personality Cenk Uygur was “arbitrary and capricious.” His suit listed the FDP and Secretary of State Cord Byrd as defendants.

What a ridiculous and embarrassing argument. Biden controls his delegates. He's the only person who can make the call on stepping down. If he does it, he's doing it according to the rules of the primary. If you want to have a real conversation on democracy, go talk to your compadres about their attempts to overturn the 2020 election and false claims that Trump won.

The Republicans spent their House leadership and all their gun powder on a fake Biden impeachment and demonizing a private citizen, Hunter, to weaken their political opponent. And now, with Biden potentially stepping out of the race, all that time and effort was for naught. How undemocratic of Joe if he bows out.

They did the same thing to Bernie too. The people wanted Bernie and the party elites vetoed that and chose Hillary.

Dems sought to cover up Biden’s brain rot for four years, unconcerned that a cognitively impaired man was running the country. NOW that it is apparent that he is a liability in the election, they are spoiling to replace him, at the last minute, because democracy is imperiled.

I think the point is the fascists in control are the dictatorship. No one honestly has taken Biden seriously all the way to his campaign for the 2020 election when he ran from the basement. The problem is now he is Bernie (on the weekend)…
