    GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Mississippi State baseball team looked to win the series against No. 6 Florida on Sunday afternoon but came up short as they were defeated 4-3.

    Mississippi State couldn't get anything going in the Sunday finale grabbing just five hits on the afternoon. Bryce Chance went 2-for-4 at the plate and picked up an RBI. Connor Hujsak picked up a double and went 1-for-3 in the batter's box. Amani Larry now leads the SEC in hits by pitch after taking two in the game today.

    Karson Ligon got the start on the mound and worked the first 2 1/3 innings. He walked three and grabbing one strikeout. Cam Schuelke grabbed three innings and struck out one Gator. Evan Siary pitched 2.2 innings and struck out four to lead the bullpen in the game.

    Mississippi State is back at Dudy Noble Field for a midweek matchup against Central Arkansas. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted on SECN+.
