If he really thought he was going to start over Lagway have to question his intelligence. Hard to fathom anyone would think that.

I think he or any other QB should be given the chance to be No.1. It shouldn’t be pre-ordained to be Lagway’s without competition.

This story makes no sense. No way it would go this long with a misunderstanding at this level. And why would Billy tell him he has no shot to compete for #1 when he doesn’t have to?

I think if we put up a headline on the main page…like the Maddox is here blurb…Purdie will be forced to stay.
But if he leaves, we can see the headline every day, and at least sit and wish upon a star that he would come back and make us feel complete.

 

Really bad for qb depth if he leaves but other than that…whatever. Need to find another suitable #2 qb by fall.

 

The freshman could possibly be the 2 but warner at 3 is very concerning. We have no reason to be certain tgat DJ takes all the snaps and we have nothing proven behind him.

 

I would feel better if we had a backup QB with proven ability and some experience but, such a player might be hard to find given the fact that DJ is here: and thank goodness for that.
Unlike a lot of posters on GC I’m not ready to give up on Aiden Warner. Showed a lot of character and talent in a very tough spot in Georgia game and even though his performance at Texas was not impressive, what part of our game with Texas was impressive?

 

I hope the kid can do better. Also, he's a gator. I admire him, but I really don't see it. That said, any back up it's only going to make the score closer against a team like Texas or Georgia, it will not win the game, more than likely
