You keep saying that, but can’t cite any specific examples, and ‘round and ‘round we go.

I gave it to you. Whether you accept it isn't my concern.

You mentioned Title IX dude. That's an example.

Again, whether that's a good or a bad thing is another question entirely. But you didn't make an argument. You effectively said: "apart from the ways in which they do control local schools, they don't control local schools." That's not an argument, you're just picking a fight on the internet without actually saying anything.

Highway Speed Limit is a prime example of this type of control by Feds.

The issues with book removals and bans received a ton of coverage in late 2022 and early 2023. Here are some articles on it:

    (March 2023)
Escambia County book ban list: Every book being challenged in schools
    (April 2023)

It was such a big story that DeSantis even had to address it:
DeSantis calls Roberto Clemente book removal "a joke"
    (Feb. 2023)

That's just a taste of the media coverage surrounding the debacle.

Yet, when the Legislature passed H.B. 1069 in May 2023 (and DeSantis signed it into law that month), they did not make it harder for the crackpots to make frivolous challenges, they did not create robust safeguards to ensure that appropriate books remained on the shelves, and they did not create a process that encouraged school boards to keep books on the shelves. Instead, they made it easier to get books removed, harder and more costly for school boards to reject challenges, and easier for the crackpots to challenge books.

If you can't connect the dots here, I don't what more anybody can say to you. Facts on the ground and media coverage: "It's too easy for crackpots to challenge books and get them removed, even when those books should clearly be on the shelves." Florida Legislature and Governor's response: "Got it. Let's pass a law that makes it even easier for crackpots to challenge books and get them removed, and we'll make it harder/more costly for school boards to reject those challenges. Will we put safeguards in place to stop the frivolous challenges? No, we won't!"

Either you think our Governor and Legislators are the dumbest people on Earth or you know that they intentionally have created a system to empower the crazies to get perfectly normal books banned.

None of this is evidence that the legislation was passed specifically to enable people who would abuse it.

Maybe you're just projecting leftist tactics which enable militant wings of their party by winking and nodding at them, bailing them out, undermining police, etc. They never say they support "the abusers," but they support them.

Here's the truth, though: Not everyone is as cynical as you.

All of it is. But thanks for proving my point. Not worth continuing to go in circles.
