Champions of forced covid shots, govt mandate abuses, CBDC, twitter censorship and vaccine passports opine about the loss of freedom...classic. :emoji_joy:

I don’t want you to cry. That would be sad for all of us.

Venomous ad hominem attacks aside, do you have any (credible) source that shows the profitability of Reedy Creek? I’d be very interested in seeing the facts. Special Districts are not created to be profitable. They are created to ensure efficiency. So I’d be real interested in seeing your objective facts to support your bold theory.

The question is simple: should the allocation of public resources be dependent upon political speech? If your mocking post is arguing yes, then I think it’s pretty clear you aren’t a supporter of the first amendment.

Im not saying that we didn’t over do it under Covid;?however; you being forced to separate yourself from others if you have a deadly disease is not a loss of freedom. It’s common gd sense. My biggest concern is when we have a disease that has a 30-60% mortality and a transmission rate like the flu; are the morons going to scream freedom when we say get a shot or go to a camp. I’ll tell you, I’ll shoot you if you come near my family in that situation and you refuse to take precautions.

Vaccine mandates have been an American reality dating back to literally the Revolutionary War and George Washington mandating his soldiers inoculate against smallpox. And they have been commonplace in our society since well before I was born. Twitter is a private business, not government. The DeSantis administration trying to restrict their ability to "censor" those who use their platform is a violation of free speech.

"Vaccine passports" is a nebulous phrase. DeSantis used it to mean private businesses requiring to see vaccine cards before they'd let you patronize their establishment. The government restricting their ability to do that is not pro-freedom.

You don't seem to know what freedom is. In your mind, it appears to be you getting to do what you want and other people you disagree with not getting to do what they want. That certainly is the DeSantis conception of "freedom," but that isn't what freedom is. That's what tyranny is.

We hear from a prime culprit. A payer who equates Twitter moderating what is out on a forum it owns— the right to not be forced to speak— with DeSantis’ shameful behavior that is the subject of this thread. Behavior by DeSantis thst this poster supported. Poster didn’t like a Twitter or being forced to carry the election lies that the Poster supported.

This thread isn’t a debate over COVID. Nice try at deflection. Not happening. Go back to the cesspool of disinformation that the COVID thread has begin and engage the other science deniers who still post there and publicly advertise how misinformed or flat out dumb that they are.

The irony about Reedy Creek is that the special district demonstrates what conservatives have been arguing for decades i.e. that private corporations (in this case Disney) can perform governmental functions better than actual governments.

Disney provides far better emergency services at far better prices, and it’s not even close. We have a friend that just retired from their fire department, and the thought of the District being run by the County rather than Disney made him sad, because he was so proud of their work.

Masks were to slow the spread of the virus, not stop it. That's why you take a vaccine that shortens transmissibility and lessens severe symptoms. Sad that maga media ignores science.
