    They aren’t squashing opposition.

Yes, we know you are more worried about perpetuating that here towards those you don't like.

Or anywhere, really. Like the Mexican border, for example.

I'm not a fan of DeSantis going down this path. I think it's too far. I'm fine pulling all special exemptions, just don't make an example of Disney. That's something dems would do. Don't need to play their game.

Let me guess. To you, "the people" is you and those who agree with you. In other words, you support minority rule, which is exactly what Trump, DeSantis, Abbott and the GQP are trying to forcefully impose on America.

This is something despicable that the GOP has ACTUALLY DONE. Don't deflect this into something you imagine the Dems MIGHT HAVE DONE, but DID NOT DO. :)

Dem's have been cracking down on free speech for a decade. Chic-fil-a, Hobby Lobby and the Cakeshop just to name a few issues. I'm sure you were for the free speech of those companies back then right...

But back to your partisan attacks.

Sorry, but private boycotts are NOT the same as the GQP enacting GOVERNMENTAL retribution against a private entity at the behest of the Governor.

So you eliminate freedom of speech if it is opposition to the majority opinion?

    Damn the constitution?

Does that sound like USA or USSR?

It sounds to me very much like a GOP that you (and pretty much anyone else outside the bubble) no longer recognize.

Cakeshop went to the Courts. Good try. You guys like to play politics and cancel anyone who doesn't agree with you. Tough loss on Twitter sport. Oh well, maybe next ime.

The hyperbole is palpable. No ones free speech is being denied. Disney can say what it wants to say. There are expectations when you get special privileges. And misrepresenting an issue should have consequences imo.

At the end of the day this is going to just be a political play that DeSantis wins on and behind the scenes they will silently let everything go with no changes. Reedy Creek will not go away imo. I could be wrong. And some Disney executives will get fired or demoted for the political stunt they tried to push. Again. I could be wrong. But that is how I see this playing out. And people can say what they want. There is a reason that Disney did not come out and say we disagree with the bill and think that sex ed should be taught to K-3rd. Because they actually agree with the bill. But they wanted to play politics and run with the agenda pushing slogan of "dont say gay". Dumb move by their executives.

Boston trying to prevent Chic Fil A. The government trying to force private business to offer insurance coverage that a business does not want to offer...

Those issues are far more problematic than this.

Cakeshop was a private claim alleging discrimination. The government had nothing to do with it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the gay couple make a complaint to a government run committee that ordered the Cake shop to change its policy on not making wedding cakes for same sex couples and provide training to their staff?

I’ve listened to multiple conservative podcasts about this topic and most think DeSantis has gone too far. Throwing a brush back pitch is fine but moving forward with repealing the RCIZ is not something anyone actually wants to do. And it is unwise to possibly let that Genie out of the lamp.

Desantis is changing law to go after a corp because they made a comment that disagreed with him.

none of those nebulous dem examples come close to that. But keep trying to change the subject.

Who’s changing the subject? I said I don’t agree with desantis on this move. But thanks for trying to deflect from the dems trying to cancel companies for not toeing the dem line.
