This is the most precise, succinct, and on point explanation of why this is bad governance and more than a little troubling. My position exactly (and I have no use for either party).

Just stop. I have not had Covid yet. And I am not against people being able to choose whether they want to take a new drug. I am against forcing people into taking a drug they do not want or need in many cases that does not stop the spread of the disease.

Rampant Covid among the unvaccinated threatens all of us by (1) filling our hospitals with needlessly sick people; and (2) increasing the chances of a new, more deadly variant.

These drugs do not stop the spread. There is a huge risk gradient based on age and comorbidities. We know the high risk groups. You want to take a new drug that does not stop the disease for a small potential therapeutic response. By all means. When the alpha variant was dominant that made sense for the high risk groups and those with low risk tolerance. Keep pushing for people to be required to take a drug they don’t need. It will bolster DeSantis even more…

If the vaccines don't slow the spread of the disease, how do you explain the huge differences in rates of contracting the disease between the vaccinated and unvaccinated?

Since this is not the subject of this thread. this will be my last post on Covid. The vaccines have been very effective in reducing hospitalizations and deaths due to Covid. This benefits everyone in our society. While vaccinated people can spread the virus, they do so at a reduced rate compared to those who are unvaccinated.

anti-corporation because they are using the power of the gubmnt to punish someone who disagrees with them. how you, or anyone, can't be against the gubmnt penalizing free speech is beyond me

you seem to ignore all of the responsibilities that came with those "priveleges". ALl of that is mute as the issue is should the gubmnt use legislation to punish people they oppose?

So I'll ask you direct, should the gubmnt use the law of the land to squash any opposition? Should a democratic president get rid of all the tax exemptions for churches if the church doesn't endorse him?? Is that okay too?

incorrect. there is nothing unique. here is Ave Maria, another town created with the same rules. I could post another 50 of these around the state

1,288 of the same kind of district in the state. Another 500 or so various other types of special districts.

yes, and lots and lots of other special districts across the state. Few have been charged with developing all of the infrastructure required right down to the power plant. Babcock Ranch is another one that built it soup to nuts and runs it. Lakewood Ranch is another.

People should be much more concerned about tweeter censoring people than Florida standing up for its bill that was being misrepresented.

If that is what the people want…

    This is politics.

My opinion is DeSantis takes this political victory and behind the scenes this slowly goes away with a few Disney executives getting fired or demoted. I could be wrong. But this is nothing more than political posturing. And yea there are expectations from the businesses that get privileges…

Disney filming in the Xinjiang Provence should be an issue. But I get most are not concerned with the human rights violations happening there.

Why should people be more concerned about a company enforcing their rules with their company property than with the government punishing political enemies?
