DeSantis vs. Disney

Let's put this post into context. Disney engaged in political speech to criticize a law passed by the Republican Governor and Legislature. So those Republicans retaliated against Disney by taking away a benefit conferred by law. The authoritarians have used the Constitution as a diaper again.

 

I wouldn’t say a vast majority support it. Some polls say they do by a slim margin, others have people opposed by 60%. However the point is it’s a superfluous law that’s vague and poorly written, and makes it illegal to do something that’s already against the law. Further, parents can sue schools over anything, and they have.

The preamble of the bill says “classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity.” In the bill itself it says “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur.” So is a discussion and instruction the same thing? Most people I believe would say it isn’t, but the bill doesn’t differentiate because it doesn’t define the words discussion, nor instruction.

 

Sorry just don't believe it. But hey you do you.

No rant, I actually have zero problems with gays or transgenders. What I dislike is it be forced on those that do not accept the lifestyle. I shouldn't be labeled a criminal because I don't want to join in calling you by a pronoun or I don't believe transgenders should be able to compete in the sports made for a specific gender. That is my beef.
