DeSantis's vaccination vilification campaign is designed for people like you. He's trying to pry you away from Trump, and he's doing a pretty good job of it. He's well on his way to wresting the MAGAs away from Trump. That he's contributing to people not getting boosted and thus having a higher likelihood of hospitalization or death, matters not one bit to DeSantis. He will gladly have more people die if it means he gets to be the Repub nominee for president.

Wow, it must be wonderful for you to live so righteous in the knowledge you have about things like the safety and efficacy of the covid vaccine.

I seek facts, not righteousness. You given me none. I'm 79. I got Covid. Thank goodness I was vaccinated. Most all of those who weren't died. I find it just incredible that your righteousness allows you to question it.

No need to reply. I'm done here. It reminds me why I had you blocked for several years.

I was tempted to reply, "no, you're self righteous" just to see how long the back and forth would continue, but I figured he'd outlast.me.

Skimming through this thread I saw you tagged me as one "who peddled the doctor" on another thread. This is not my fight, I no longer live in Florida or suffer under the UF health care system that almost killed me 5 years ago. My sole contribution was the link to a letter written by Dr Ladapapo's supervisor at UCLA. Dr Carol Mangione's letter was written in early 2022. Here are a few portions of it what she wrote:

"According to the report, the supervisor [likely Mangione] was asked if he or she would recommend Ladapo as surgeon general and if the supervisor had confidence in Ladapo's ability, honesty and integrity to be Florida's top doctor.

"The supervisor's response was 'No. In my opinion the people of Florida would be better served by a surgeon general who grounds his policy decisions and recommendations in the best scientific evidence rather than opinions.'

"The USA Today Network-Florida first reported the supervisor's comments Thursday. A copy of the background report has been shared with The Associated Press.

"The supervisor also noted Ladapo's outspoken resistance to various coronavirus mandates, saying Ladapo had “created stress and acrimony” at UCLA. Still, the supervisor said Ladapo “met all of the contractual obligations for the position that he was hired to perform, which is the underpinning of my otherwise satisfactory evaluation.”

The quoted portions on this thread were found @ Ex-supervisor wouldn't endorse Ladapo as FL's top doctor

My only other comments on Lapado and Mangione were on another thread - Florida Surgeon General Dr. Ladapo - where Mangione is revealed to be the source of the comments.

You have questions, take it up with her. I'm satisfied with the health care I received at UC's Anschutz and in my doctors in western Colorado. Head and shoulders superior to Shands.

Q has been disingenuous about that letter by Magione as evidenced by his following post, to which you refer:

***Funny how you and @lacuna went silent after being shown the UCLA doctor who went political actually wrote a glowing letter of recommendation for Dr. Ladapo right before deciding politics was more important.***

Note the suggestion Magione is free of politics until it comes to light what her true feelings are, at which point she suddenly becomes political.

That kind of fluid “integrity” drives me crazy. But if one is wed to a position no matter what, integrity is an early victim.

    Didn't take long.

And I'm sure the guy after DeSantis will be more dangerous than DeSantis. On and on the cycle goes. I don't think he'll ever get the "W" treatment because you all view him worse than you view Nixon, but you will look at him more fondly 10 years from now in an effort to demonize the new guy.

I'm curious to see exactly what this will be about.

DeSantis has always been pro-vaccine for at-risk populations. He's generally been pro-choice with regards to whether anyone wants to take vaccines. And he's been anti-Fauci in the sense that he doesn't think it should be mandated from the top down and businesses shouldn't be forced to close over this and that Fauci is generally an unelected politician posing as an expert.

Could this be politics? Yes. So was basically every Trump investigation so spare me the crocodile tears. Could this also be useful for the public? Yes. Could DeSantis come out of this looking like a hypocrite? Yes. Could this be perfectly in line with every DeSantis position on Fauci and the vaccines? Yes. In a nutshell, we need more information.

I'm most curious about the risks of the vaccine on healthy young people.

Care to read her letter a couple months earlier as I posted and responded to you with before? Here it is again before she went political…

No. It is disappointing to hear someone you respect show a real lack of character. Truth is Dr. Ladapo is plenty qualified.

Sadly you have no clue what Dr. Ladapo has actually supported through this pandemic. Because you only listen to the mainstream media you throw out ignorant lines about ivermectin instead of going and actually researching and listening to what he actually says and supports.

    Par for the course.

I have been straight up. Only response of substance I have received on the letter she wrote was disheartening. As it was a poster I respect admitting to things that are beyond disappointing.

Dr. Magione is the one who went political. It is clear. Disgraceful on her part for sure.
