Can't disagree with that one. One could take a trump stand there and question how such a "crack head" came out of nowhere to beat Gwen Graham. In this state, when it comes to elections, anything is possible.

Edited to add: Weighing it out, Gillum could have undergone rehab, there is no fix for duhsantis

There is something distasteful about elected officials actively pushing voters toward a specific outcome in an amendment vote. We elect them to represent our interests, not to manipulate or unduly influence our decisions. They should step back and allow the people to freely make their own choices.

Now Duhsantis wants republicans running for office to give him their donations to go towards thwarting yet again the will of the people of FL.

Also in today's paper is a story about how the GOP colluded to have the winner of the GOP primary for State Atty to step aside as to not take votes away from Andrew Bain, a non party affiliated candidate that was appointed to the position by...wait for it... Duhsantis. Corrupt corrupt corrupt.
Now that candidate (Hyman) and the dem candidate (Worrell) are suing.

No, Trump is a realist and understands compromise which is something that Kamala Harris will not do as I documented above. Trump believes it should be left to the states to decide which is why it was not in the RNC platform.

The US twice could have had a federal law at 20 weeks. Harris as a senator voted against twice as the democrats sabotaged any common sense compromise.

The Florida law was fine at 15 weeks with exceptions for rape, incest, and death of the mother. I agreed with that too. It's not that I accept murder, it's a compromise that would likely have kept Florida from now having to beat a radical abortion amendment to the Florida Constitution.

Harris released policy on abortion tells pro-life supporters all they need to know about turning out the vote against Harris and amendment 4:

Kamala Harris's Policy Page Pledges to Federalize Abortion on Demand (breitbart.com)

The policy page further claims that Harris and Walz “trust women to make decisions about their own bodies, and not have the government tell them what to do.” The policy page does not say anything about separate bodies of unborn babies who are destroyed in abortions.

The policy page erroneously calls pro-life laws “Trump abortion bans,” and slams the former president for picking the conservative Supreme Court justices who ultimately voted to overturn Roe v. Wade and send the issue of abortion to individual states. The pro-abortion pair also claim Trump will “ban abortion nationwide, restrict access to birth control, force states to report on women’s miscarriages and abortions, and jeopardize access to IVF,” although he has not promised to do any of those things.

A more radical presidential candidate the US has never had. For a federal bill to become law, the compromise can likely be had at 15 weeks now as the 20 weeks or zero restrictions has a zero chance of passage in congress. This time the nay votes for more than 15 weeks will be coming from the republicans.

I’m so effing tired of these day of birth/post birth abortion lies. 3d trimester abortions were VERY limited under Roe, and post birth abortion (parroted by the Orange Moron just last week) is murder.

Honestly you’d have to be an idiot without a functioning brain or just plain disingenuous to spew or believe this crap, yet here we are. It’s just dangerous pablum for the brainwashed.

    Wait, what?

Your rapist lost the popular vote in each of the last two elections. Without gerrymandering and minoritarian representation, your national criminal organization would be in the congressional minority, in both houses, for the last 25 years.

I guess you mean in some of the states where there's a preponderance of uneducated and stupid people. I'll grant you the majority there....

Says the guy losing it over abortion going to a popular vote because the majority (and likely 60%+) support abortion.

Yep, it's murder. Yep, I'm willing to compromise just the same. It's true that 6 weeks doesn't give many women a chance to realize they are pregnant.

You are the example that it is abortion on demand without restrictions and with the support of doing away with the Hyde Amendment so the federal government can pay for all abortions? Your lack of compromise attitude is why we don't now have a federal law at 20 weeks. It mirrors Kamala Harris' attitude.

That is not what the majority wants in the US and that is not what the 60% in Florida want. Whatever it takes short of illegality should be done to stop Florida Amendment 4. The pro-life movement must work tirelessly to educate citizens in opposition to abortion on demand in Florida.

It's an encouragement for the pro-life movement that Governor DeSantis is the face of the opposition. Kamala Harris as president would be the face of federal abortion on demand including attacking state pro-life laws. For you and other liberals to denounce DeSantis is the height of hypocrisy highlighting the attitude that we can play hard ball, but conservatives cannot.

No person who genuinely believes it's the murder of babies is compromising. You can't eat your cake and have it too.
I know folks like you don't care much for the rule of law, but I will denounce Ron for violating Florida law by using state resources to campaign against Amendment Four.

    https://floridaphoenix.com/2024/07/...nnabis-constitutional-amendments-are-leading/

A public opinion survey released Tuesday suggests that the proposed constitutional amendment to restore abortion rights to the point of viability is winning, as is the measure that would legalize recreational cannabis for adults.

The poll of 774 Floridians who said that they were either definitely or probably voting in the coming election was conducted by the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab between July 24 and July 27.

Amendment 3 received 64% support, with 31% opposing and 5% undecided or refusing to answer the question. All constitutional amendments in Florida require 60% to become law. As the Phoenix has previously reported, of the 15 states that brought the issue of legalizing recreational cannabis to the voters, only three states have passed the measure by more than 60% — New Jersey, Maryland, and Arizona.

    ***

Amendment 4 gets even higher support, with 69% saying yes and just 23% opposing the proposal. Eight percent said they didn’t know or refused to answer.

The Catholic Bishops of North America were willing to compromise in return for a 20-week limit on abortions. Shows how little you know. Your positions are radical, wrong, and the reason we will never have a federal law.

Tell me the laws DeSantis is breaking and I'll show you lawsuits galore. This is pure nonsense.

Pro-Life is out working with the support of Governor DeSantis in a way that did not exist in late July. Maybe you can get us something in the here and now? Six-week-old polls are worthless.

Fair point. The most recent poll I see on the marijuana amendment reflects over 60% approval, and that number seems consistent with what I'd seen before. The most recent poll I see on the abortion amendment reflects that it's shy of the super-majority needed, so maybe the numbers have moved on that one. I think they will both get at least majority support.

Sorry, can’t get mad about DeSantis being opposed to an expansion of baby killing options.
