To give you some context, Worrell is an elected state attorney that Desantis removed because he felt she wasn't doing her job. Desantis appointed Andrew Bain. During the election cycle, the Republican candidate that won his primary dropped out immediately after winning and said that they didn't have money to continue. This left just Worrell vs Bain. The GOP runner up in the primary sued Desantis and Bain saying that there was corruption with the primary to ensure that Bain had the best chance of winning. Worrell wins reelection so that she can rightfully have her job back and is to be sworn in next week and now we have this:

Polk County Grand Jury investigating Monique Worrell’s administration days before swearing-in

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Grand Jury has been called and people have been subpoenaed to appear in Bartow, the seat of Polk County, as an investigation into Monique Worrell’s administration before she was suspended from office winds to a close, sources confirmed to Channel 9.

Worrell was seen walking into the courthouse shortly after it opened Friday, flanked by two attorneys. She was seen meeting with Bill Gladson, the State Attorney for Marion, Sumter, and Lake counties.

Multiple people familiar with the investigation said Gladson was appointed to oversee the investigation and Grand Jury proceedings.

It’s unclear if Worrell is a target of the investigation or a witness, and as of midday Friday none of the people who have spoken with reporters could confirm the charges Gladson is trying to press.

Surprise, surprise. Desantis is a giant PoS so of course he would do something like this.

Sounds like the Worrell joker is super soft on crime. No wonder the democrats love her.

    Good job, Governor!

Sell that lawfare bull shit to the families of the Pine Hills mass shooter that was out of jail because of her. Or the victims of some of the rapists she didn't prosecute.

I doubt you care that the families have criticized the very thing you are doing in this post, politicizing their deaths. The families have explicitly called out DeSantis and Rick Scott for their indecency.

“Family members — all represented by Orlando attorney Mark NeJame — have long pushed back at what they said are Republicans politicizing the tragedy. Shortly after the shooting, they blasted DeSantis and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott for treating them as “political pawns” in a vendetta against Worrell.
“Our family does not wish to have the memory of our loved one dragged through the mire in order to further an individual’s political aspirations, especially when none of these individuals have ever had the common decency to reach out to us or offer condolences,” Major said.”

Oh I get it. Lawfare is ok if you’re a Republican doing it. I got it. Thanks for clearing that up. Makes me chuckle.

Plus the person that screwed up that whole situation was an Orange County deputy when the shooter was arrested on a previous charge. He should’ve been in jail but OCSO messed up the evidence.
