Maybe so, but Harris could have found a job some place else. It's almost like he wanted to stiff arm the Gators with that move.

Meh, it’s a pretty good job for a mercenary, no matter what our thoughts are. He’s not looking for long term stability, just a fat check and some talent to work with. Rumors were that he was still interviewing for an NFL gig so I don’t think he did anything to spurn us, just somewhere to hangout until the next thing comes along. From his goodbye letter, it kind of seemed like he was pushed out here. At minimum it seems he wasn’t given what he required to stay.

Prior to the destruction and complete annihilation of amateur College ball, I would have agreed to the above about Harris. Now, I do not.
College sports, especially the big ones: Football, Basketball and Baseball are now a business.

In my opinion the majority of coaches, players and staff are all in the gig for $$$. If pod-casters and Gator sites are to be believed, Harris and Roberts had personality conflicts. I don't want to misquote or misrepresent things, because I was privy to nothing, but the word is Napier had a choice to make between Roberts and Harris and Napier chose Roberts.

Getting back to the "loyalty" issue, IMO there IS NONE. While many of us enjoy the sport it is a dirty business and getting much much dirtier on the College level because of lack of rules, definition, and fairness, with the head honchos in charge being concerned with money over all other considerations.

The once mighty NCAA is now a toothless and useless organization that became increasingly "Ham-Strung", primarily, IMO, because the office became tainted with corruption in high places, clearly showing abject favoritism to certain programs that were wealthy, or having the right "friends".
