Had a great game at 3B in field also. like I mentioned in other thread, he normaly has couple more RBI yesterday but runner on 2b on his 2 singles was a 270 pounder. Needs a triple to score from 2b..lol Also had couple SB on weekend. 3/3 on year.. team now 18/20.

CBT did him a solid Fri night not starting him vs Brecht.. RHB have little to no chance vs that slider when gearing up for 100+. He did come in late inning Fri and had a sac bunt.

Moved up to 7 hole in Sunday game. Wouldnt be surprised to see him in 5 hole soon, in between the two 270 lb LH bats.

Kyly Peterson(again FWIW) is high on him, but KP is high on whoever hes calling that particular day. Called AU best lineup in country multiple time over weekend..lol maybe hes just high in general. Pitching was perceived strength coming into season. I do agree w/ KP that the starting rotation may be the main issue in SEC.. For example the SEC pitcher of week last week, is a crafty lefty who wont break 90. Not sure how that plays vs SEC lineups. He was ok vs a comparable line up(UVA) yesterday.

2 more weekends vs not crap to figure it out.. Pre season ranked UConn next week(just swept at Cal) and Austin Peay(7-1) the following .

 

Fabian was also 1 of 4 AU to make All Tourney team I just saw.

Little surprised they gave MVP to AU guy Bobby Peirce, & not a UVa guy.. I may of gone Fabian if going w/ AU player... Peirce did lead tourney in HR & RBI I guess. And robbed a HR yesterday.

 

0/4 SF(to the CF wall) RBI tonight v Sam. Robbed on couple hard hit balls.. And had a couple more web gems himself. 4 or 5 of those last 3 games. Avg down to .333(2nd) , now in 4 way tie RBI lead w/ 11

And he did move up to 5 hole tonight between the 2 big LH boppers(both had 3r HR), as i guessed he might..

0 for the DH on Sat, 2 Es in field. Think he did draw a BB in game 1.

Team was 0/6, 5 Ks w/ bases loaded in gm 2.. Fabian 2 of those Ks.

Would guess he watches today. ** I guessed wrong , hes in there

He added a single and BB to go 2/3 for the day

All 8 of AU runs via 2 out HRs. Ike Irish w/ the other 2.

 

Fabians homer yesterday, and starting a 5-4-3 right after.. Begining of video then you can turn off..lol

Jud Fabian is starting in LF for the Orioles Spring Breakout team tonight against the Pirates. The game is on ESPN+. This is a new event designed to give the younger players a chance to shine. The game starts at 7 pm. The O's won the earlier MLB game 5-2. Both games are at the Pirates' home field in Bradenton. The big matchup is this past year's #1 selection, Paul Skenes, pitching against the previous year's #1 selection, Jackson Holliday.

 

Looks like Deric has been struggling recently. Since 3/12 he's 0-24 with 14ks- hopefully he can turn things around. Definitely pulling for him.

 

Once scouting and coaches figure out your weakness and adjust, it is then up to the hitter to adjust to the way they are being pitched. I firmly believe baseball is more mental than physical in terms of adjustments and confidence. Some players are able to forget the last at bat and some let it get in their head. Players that starred in baseball their entire life become low .200 hitters in college. Suddenly have to put in more time understanding pitcher tendencies, reviewing scouting reports, watching video, taking extra batting practice, …all without letting doubt creep in. Gets even tougher at each level of minor league ball. Lot of truly great players stall at Triple AAA ball. Makes what Wyatt did all the more special.

 

Yeah, streaky hitter just like his brother but not quite as talented. Average down to 217

 

He has hit himself to the bench. 0 for last 23. 3 different guys have played 3rd last week. Maybe they should try him as a pitcher. Plenty of offense, no pitching for AU.

Deric cant hit anything not straight, unless its hung. Was working counts early in year, but last few at bats was usually 3 or 4 pitches and a K.

 

Yep why Jacksn Holiday is such a freak. From HS pitching to AAA in less than a years time.

 

Nothing to be ashamed of that he has fallen short of Jud's performance. Siblings often achieve at different levels, Billy Carter comes to mind. Of course, Cy Young and his sister still hold the MLB record for career wins by siblings.
